I should have read your post before replying to Hostage. This guy isn’t R or D, he’s A (Appropriator).
The problem with successful movements such as Tea Party Conservatism (which will continue to grow and win) is that previous adversaries feign agreement with the new ideology.
Once Tea Party conservatives take the helm, we will hear many moderates and progressives in the republican establishment claim they were always conservatives and that they support the new Tea Party backed leadership, that they always supported the new leadership.
This is human nature.
The problem comes about when these characters position themselves or surrogates to take back leadership in a deceptive way and then drive the performance according to the older failed practices.
Yes they become appropriators, most all of them and they give in to taking whatever they can get.
It’s hard to maintain a crusade, a war of ideas when money is needed to make the operation successful. But those trained in guerrilla warfare such as were the original revolutionaries can succeed if they are determined, if they have enough support and if they have brilliant and daring leadership.
If the Senate had gotten behind Ted Cruz last Fall in his game of chicken with Obama, they would have won. Public sentiment and polls were shifting in a big way to those making the stand. Even the BBC in England was reporting the republicans were winning. But as Boehner caved the NY media wrote their version of history.
