“Looks like a copycat to me. Right down to buying his gun at the same store.”

It appears that the firearms dealer complied with all of the gun laws in both instances.

KILLEEN, Texas—A firearms emporium here called Guns Galore once again found itself linked to a mass shooting at Fort Hood, as officials said it sold—legally—the firearm used in Wednesday’s rampage at the U.S. Army post.

The suspect, Spc. Ivan Lopez, bought the .45-caliber Smith & Wesson gun allegedly used in the shooting at Guns Galore in early March, military officials said Thursday.

Investigators have found nothing to suggest it was a suspicious or illegal purchase because Spc. Lopez didn’t have a court finding of mental illness or a military discharge that would have raised alarms, said federal and military officials familiar with the investigation. The suspect killed three people and wounded 16 others before taking his own life.

In 2011, a federal agent testified that Guns Galore was the first to report suspicious purchases of assault-style rifles that triggered a federal investigation into a gun-running scheme. The probe brought down a system to ship firearms and money from Texas to the Mexican drug gang Los Zetas, ending in the conviction of 20 people.

Any info on what happened to him in Iraq?

Be careful there, from my experience, SSRIs are a form of dulling guilt. With SSRIs you can do anything and not have any guilt.

You said you had a general practitioner give you the SSRIs, that is a red flag.

When I called Kaiser and told them that my wife was not acting normal after 28 years together, they would not talk to me.

The FDA has attached words and phrases like hostility, impulsivity, panic attacks, agitation, homicidal ideation, mania, violent behavior, and psychotic episodes to the list of side effects for numerous psychiatric medications.

Don't forget loose bowels and constipation, insomnia and drowsiness etc.

If it lowers guilt, I never noticed. I’d say I moved from feeling Catholic guilty to feeling Jewish guilty. But after I got the CPAP I got off them and have been my happy, bubbly self since.

The mental problems extend to the officer corps. To a man they seem to think that 20 casualties before the MP’s arrive is an acceptable number rather than arming some of the soldiers on duty. And people wonder why I never though much of officers in the Army.

The government response:

“Lopez spent four months in Iraq in 2011, the year the US ended its combat mission there. Military officials are reporting that there are no records showing Lopez was engaged in combat during his tour there.”

I would want to hear of any interview responses of fellow soldiers that served with Lopez during those four months as a truck driver. That is if the military has, or will do any.

They had an article that he went to someone about leave...and they apparently said no I guess and he left in a huff and the shooting started a few minutes later.

It doesn't make sense because.....he bought the gun a month ago.....so he knew a month ago that he was going to get turned down?? See the problem (as Columbo would say).

What's interesting is that he arrived at Fort Hood 2 months earlier....just like Hasan arrived 2 months before his rampage.

Sorry...this guy was a secret Muslim and we're being lied to royally.

I agree....Copycat....Fits that FBI chase description to a "T".

I'm betting that he was a "solicited" Muslim.

Now let's see what groups he belonged to while Obama was running.

I thought he even looked like Hasan.

Just read a very long NYT article about this, and they mentioned “mental health issues” but not a single word about meds.

So we know who their advertisers are.

they said no to his leave, then relented and gave him time to go straight to the funeral and back. so he DID go to his mother’s funeral. he, perhaps, needed more time to grieve, but they did allow him to attend.

Where was this guy prior to him moving to Killeen? I keep seeing that he and his wife had only been there a few weeks. Where was he before? Why was it so difficult for him to take leave for his mother’s funeral? Did sequestration play a role? Or the Obama government shutdown? And did they refuse to cover his travel costs? And did he just find out that they would not cover his emergency leave?

(just trying to figure out the trigger for this guy to lose it.)

I'm still bothered that two days earlier, the FBI was looking for a guy going to "copycat" Hasan....but it wasn't this guy.

It tells me that we're being lied to and someone is covering some big boy's a**. Like Obama's?
