New Battleground poll tells Republicans who want to win elections: turn right and don’t look back

The March Battleground Poll says the same things about the ratio of conservative Americans to liberals that previous surveys have said: there are nearly 3 self-described conservatives for every 2 self- avowed liberals. Any politician claiming to be conservative would/should dance with glee upon being told that he would start an election campaign with a 3 to 2 edge.

Nevertheless, the Republican establishment (GOPe) doesn’t seem interested in the promise these numbers hold. They want to continue to lust after the acceptance that acting and talking like a liberal will get them from their enemies in the media.

Average Americans are by and large conservative and will happily extend a helping hand to...

Response of GOPe Leaders: “Column Left Face...March!”

Remember, it’s not about defeating the real enemy, it’s about defeating the conservatives in the Republican Party that matters most to the establishment types.

Republicans are just Democrats who are too lazy to change their party affiliation.

Same can be said for the “You have to vote GOP no matter what” crowd that pollutes conservative websites.

Well, this is good to hear, finally! But it will no doubt confuse the Boehner and McConnell types.

If they have to “turn” right... they aren’t to begin with. A candidate either IS Conservative, or he/she is not. It’s not a matter of political convenience.

We’re long past the time for pretenders. This is war for the soul of the country.

We really should define what a conservative is and what the conservative agenda should be.

The problem here is they talk a good fight. When the battle begins, they fold like cheap suits.

In other words “LIE UNTIL THE NEXT ELECTION IS OVER”

A REAL conservative would not need such advice

We have clear definitions of conservatism and a platform to match. Establishment republicans do not like it one bit. They would do to the Republican party what the same Marxists did to the Democrat party.
It is absolutely vital to end the reign of terror of these faux republicans who only seek to lock in their own power and have no sympathy for conservative causes.
A politician willing to do anything to stay in power is a politician that needs to be removed from power.

“...really should define what a conservative is ...”

Simple.

American first, always; what’s best for OUR country first, whatever makes us independent, and sovereign, and strong. I’m not a “citizen of the World” - I’m an American, and I want whoever becomes the lawmakers and legislators to have that same thought uppermost and foremost.

Low government interventionist mentality; we can do it ourselves, at most levels; State and County where necessary.

Lower our taxes; stop robbing us of OUR property; our Rights outweigh the “needs” of those who don’t want to work. I don’t mind helping a widow who’s husband died overseas, serving his Country; we owe that family help. But I resent - vehemently - my money being taken from me to finance the lifestyles of the welfare queens and deadbeats.

Protect our borders from illegal invasion from ANY country.

Recognize, protect, and forcibly defend our right to keep and bear arms. It’s NOT negotiable. If you don’t trust ME, why in the Hell should I trust YOU to make laws?

Obey the Constitution, and enforce it - ESPECIALLY against the damned politicians and judges who break their Oath. They’re DONE, out, jail time, and never to hold public office again. It’s already in US Criminal Code.

Pretty much leave us alone to pursue life, liberty, and happiness as we see fit - as long as that pursuit doesn’t trample someone else’s right to the same.

Reject communism/socialism in all it’s forms as anathema to liberty and be prepared to defend our way of life.

Anything else... feel free to add.

See, that’s the thing. Look at the sycophants who have 8 fits every time one points out their liberal actions and liberal support of liberal Republicans.

“How Dare YOU question my conservatism!!!”

They don’t care anymore than the GOP cares how conservatism is defined. Their actions EXACTLY mirror the admitted leftists in all it’s Orwellian splendor. They simply redefine the word, changing the language to suit themselves/agenda.

Look at the last election for total proof. People were saying garbage like “Romney is the most conservative candidate that can win”.

Someone want to produce a single conservative action in his entire career? ONE???

The GOP saw that crap clearly and ran with it. Look at all the “This is a conservative thing to do” crap coming out of the GOP. Screwing the vets was “conservative”. This latest fiasco with Obamacare was “Conservative”. All the surrenders over budget ect were “Conservative”.

Liars must be called what they are before we can move ahead. And they MUST be made the pariahs they should have been long ago. THEN we can get back to what actual conservatism has long stood for. Otherwise, they simply use Ingsoc/Newspeak to alter it again.

There are a lot of people who describe themselves as conservative. But when it comes to taking away some of their personal government cheese in order to keep the country from going "tits up", their conservatism evaporates.

It is a mistake to assume that because the Republican Establishment is connected with some elements of the management of major Corporations, that they have simply been corrupted. While there doubtless are some in the group, who have been led astray by the perceived interests of some of the major "multi-national" corporations; the major problem is the stupidity that flows from having one's attention focused on the wrong dynamics; the wrong aspects of the cause & effect relationship between actions & consequences.

Too many on our side fail to appreciate how the Left has succeeded in playing those who should know better. (See Another Variation On Demonic Theme.)

To put it another way, we need to stop thinking of certain people as being an "elite," when many of them are merely confused as to their actual interests.
