The last time I was in Canada I was asked by the RCMP whether my purpose there was business or pleasure.

When I said business, they asked me what my line of business was and who I was meeting.

Sounds like they are screening for more than terrorism now.

I had to get a signed letter of invitation from our manager in Canada when I went there on business. Even with that, I was asked what my business was...in quite some detail. Do I own any firearms? ( I answered that one with 'none of your business. I'm an American citizen.')
Did I have any weapons in my possession? Did I have any contraband...foods, alcohol, etc? How long would I be staying? Where is this place of business located? How many are employed there? Who will I be meeting with?

Most of that info was on the letter I carried. I felt like a friggin' envoy carrying letters of marque being suspected of treason against the Crown. I hate that place.

They were asking the same questions in the 70s when I went to school there.
