Why Do Nearly All the Super Rich Support the Democrats?

"Much has been made recently of the rich gaming the system for their own benefit. Of a new “guilded age.” Socialist economist Thomas Piketty’s new book has been getting rave reviews from all over the establishment because it makes the case that very powerful people with nearly bottomless bank accounts have gamed the system and that government induced redistribution is in order.

And indeed the rich have gamed the system for their benefit, but as Matthew Continetti points out, the game the super rich want to play for the most part is not one of free markets and open competition, but one of crony capitalism.

The super rich overwhelmingly support statism. For every David Koch writing checks there are 10 crony capitalists with pens in their hands writing checks to politicians who will pass laws which benefit the crony capitalists. Why is it that Warren Buffett, Carlos Slim, and George Soros, all broadly support statism? Why is it that they want more regulation? Could it be that more government pads their bottom line?

For instance Warren Buffett owns, through Berkshire Hathaway, GEICO, aka Government Employees Insurance Company. Almost every federal employee has GEICO. What do you think the chances are that the feds would ever in some crazy circumstance let GEICO die?

About 0 chance. Nice property to have. Mostly upside with an implicit government guarantee in the event something completely unforeseen happens. This is how the big crony game is played.
The statists control the media, the universities, the levers of bureaucratic government, the Senate, the presidency, the banks (in very large part), the Federal Reserve, many of the think tanks, much if not most of the billionaire money, the unions, the schools through teacher unions.

Yet Harry Reid goes on the floor and calls a private citizen “un-American” because that citizen funds the effort to get government out of people’s lives? What kind of insanity is that?"

The super rich tend to be very generous...

With other people’s money.

All the President's (Coal) Men: Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Obama’s Wyoming Giveaway

What really happened in Wyoming last week?

Perhaps we should ask billionaire coal hauler Warren Buffett, the “Oracle of Omaha.”

Energy and climate analysts and Big Green organizations are still staggering around for an answer to the Obama administration's blockbuster news in Wyoming's coalfields last week to greenlight the mining of an estimated 750 million-2.4 billion tons of coal on public lands. According to environmental analysts, “when burned, the coal threatens to release more than 3.9 billion tons of heat-trapping carbon dioxide, equal to the annual emissions from 300 coal-fired power plants.”

You’ve heard of white guilt? The commie wannabes suffer from WEALTH GUILT. It’s very prevalent in Hollywood. They all want to be rich celebrities but they also want to give the impression to their friends that they feel really bad about it. They’re all phonies.

Simple. The plutocratic elite love big government because for all their talk of regulations, the revolving lobbyist door means that a massive bureaucracy actually encourages monopolies and the opportunity for these guys to make more money.

Unfortunately the GOP have spent so much time pandering to the same plutocrats (the ones who have lost the Democrats’ favor or were never invited to the party) that they have become a corporatist party as well, licking the boots of the Chamber of Commerce. This makes it impossible for them to relate to even medium sized industries, let alone the local mechanic or street vendor.

Because the federal spending spigot must never, ever be turned off or even throttled back for any reason. Their businesses depend on it.

Because nearly all the super rich got that way through the use of government.

This is genius and should be a segment on any popular news show. But won’t be. Everyone needs to face this. Every poor democrat is a stooge, a tool. They are all being fooled.

I personally know a number of centimillionaires and up

Who are not leftists

I will be very candid.

Several libtard leaning demographics are prominent in the loud rich or nouveau and make a lot of noise

But those rich outside of notorious progressive hotbeds tend to be conservative

The notion the rich are libs is anecdotal....like liberal Jews control Hollywood or hillbillies are homosexual rapists....both generalizations based on conventional wisdom....and a bit of prejudice...though one a bit more merit than the other

What is apparent of the rich is that tech rich definitely lean hard left and often anti Christian

And right leaning rich lean GOPe....

Just another set of facts demonstrating how much our side is behind

They know who to pay off so they are left alone. Conservatives aren’t going to go after success. Democrats do.

Nope, not guilt.

Nope, they are not afraid of taxes. For the super-rich, there is virtually no tax rate that can hurt them.

Nope, they don’t care about enslaving the “little people”.

Nope, it’s not about control of others, either.

Actually, Rush answered it. THEY FEAR THE MASSES someday rising up, and they don’t want to be identified as an “enemy of the people”. So if they support Socialism, maybe they’ll be spared. That’s it - protection money.

This country can be fixed by the power of the purse.
Targeted withholding and spending can make or break businesses. Unfortunately there aren’t enough determined people willing to sacrifice a little to make this happen.
With today’s social media, information can be used to afford change but those that want it are too lazy to utilize the information.

“Why Do Nearly All the Super Rich Support the Democrats?”......

How do you think they became the “Super Rich”? Demodummies have been in control for some time and have funneled money to those who have supported them. Follow the money trail!!!

Rich people support Democrats because it buys protection from Muckrakers. That works because Muckrakers are Democrats.
