Charlie Crist Gets Revenge on Gop Voters for Choosing a Latino

Charlie Crist

In a desperate attempt to revive his failed political career, former Republican Charlie Crist is reinventing himself as a liberal Democrat and certainly appears to have mastered the race-baiting techniques of his new party. In an interview with Fusion's America with Jorge Ramos, the former Florida Governor finally enacted his revenge on conservative GOP voters, who chose a then-unknown 38-year-old Latino named Marco Rubio, by stating he left the Republican Party due to its "intolerable" racism. This can be only considered a pathetic attempt to shamelessly curry favor with Democrat voters who may be unaware he was trounced by Rubio in one of the biggest upsets of the 2010 election season.

After having replaced Jeb Bush in the Florida Governors Mansion in 2007, he was widely considered by the media as a rising star in Republican politics with possible presidential aspirations for 2016. To enhance his chances of obtaining the GOP nod in '16, if not 2012, Crist entered the 2010 race for the US Senate, at the time considered a virtual shoe-in, despite growing anxiety from Floridian voters for his sub-par performance as Governor.

As the primary season began to take shape, it became apparent to handlers of the Crist campaign that his ascendency may have been in jeopardy as numerous party leaders and a the rising Tea Party factions began to take notice of State Representative Rubio. As polls that had Crist winning a primary challenge handily began to tighten and Rubio began drawing larger crowds and garnering excitement among GOP activists, Crist made the decision to run as an independent, hoping his name recognition and connections would ultimately prevail in a general election, rather than risk the humiliation of losing a primary battle against the young, untested Latino.

His internal organization and seemingly limitless financial war-chest enabled him to qualify on the ballot for the November contest, pitting him against Rubio (who won the GOP primary with 89% of the vote) and and Democrat Kendrick B. Meek. His campaign banked Crist's name recognition, hoping that the much larger turn-out in the general election would produce voters unaware of his inner-party problems and assume him to be the GOP standard-bearer and send him to Washington as he padded his resume for his coveted run at the oval office.

One problem remained for Crist, however, that in the person of Marco Rubio. As the campaign began to take shape, voters of all political persuasions began to see what Republican primary voters were struck by months prior. Rubio was a talented and confident individual, with a surprising command of his own performance and a unique insight into the issues facing Florida and the nation as a whole. As election night neared, despite outward displays of confidence, his handlers began to fear that a loss was at first possible, then inevitable.

As see what occurred on election night of November, 2010, the same allegedly "racist" voters who swept him into the political spotlight abandoned the white, self-promoting Crist for the younger and vibrant Latino-American Marco Rubio. And it wasn't even close:

Charlie Crist

One need only view Rubio's acceptance speech from that evening to know the people of Florida made a wise decision.

By moving over to a Democratic Party that has built and maintained its power by deflecting attention of its own inadequacy by slandering its opponents and dividing the American people on matters of race and gender, Crist may indeed have also made a wise career decision. At the very least, Charlie Crist is basking in the revenge he was able to level the "racist" GOP voters who chose a talented Latino over a shameless self-promoter.

Charlie has been running around all week saying to the “media”, “most of my best friends are black”.

Charlie Crist is reinventing...

When has Crist EVER stopped "reinventing" himself??? It's always been about HIM, what's in it for HIM, what can it do for HIM, how will it profit HIM. Here's hoping his political career is over forever.

Bill Clinton begged Meek to drop out and let Crist win, because while there are plenty of Black politicians, there was only one Orange politician.

HAHAHA! Orange politician! HAHAHA!

Here’s a great ad vs. Crist.

Floridians, we’ve elected white’s, blacks, Cubans, and Asians for public office. Now is our chance to make a difference...we can now elect for the first time in Florida history, an Oompa Loompa to be the xxxxx for Florida.

Paid for by the Charlie Crist is an Oompa Loompa and should be voted for just because he’s Orange committee.

It was the “other orange guy” -Crist- who endorsed mccain in ‘08, giving him a much needed leg-up in the Florida primary. Dam him.

It makes me sick that he is the next Governor of Florida. I really wish we could get rid of our Republican and pick someone else. It is a shame. Pennsylvania will probably lose the Governorship this year too.

I’m still wonder why Dems would let him be a Dem. Meeks (a liberal black ) got shafted by the Florida Democrats. Charlie Crist is a snake and I am voting again for Rick Scott. Rick is better than the last two GOP governors, Jeb and Charlie.
