RAINS COUNTY, Texas A grand jury has indicted a former Rains County deputy on an animal cruelty charge over the controversial shooting of a familys dog last month.
Jerrod Dooley, 32, has been charged with a state jail felony, punishable by up to two years behind bars. Dooley was fired last month within days of the shooting that sparked a national furor after the dogs owner went public with his story.

Some good news. Some dog owner is eventually going to become enraged at one of these “justifiable” dog shootings and someone is going to end up dead as a result. Prosecutions might prevent that from happening.

Like the lady why ran a red, then said that at the speed she was going it looked blue. I said they should have just taken her words for it and written her a speeding ticket for 0.9 light speed or whatever. Plus asked her if she was going so fast that it no longer looked like it was the bottom light in the stack.
