As I recall, butter wanted the Military to “do something” about Obama, and the Military weren’t performing to *her* satisfaction. Then when she discovered things weren’t going her way, she wanted to spit on them.
Apparently butter didn’t, and still doesn’t realize she was calling for an overthrow of the United States Government, also known as a coup d’état, and reminiscent of banana republics.
Well, we’ve all said some pretty impassioned things over the years.
I understand where you are coming from and we are very strong her.
Point out the offending links and let’s move past this.
In Honduras, Zelaya was ousted by the Military after overstaying in the Presidential Mansion in spite of having served the Constitutional term limit. It seems there were no provisions in the same Constitution for removing a president from office who refused to leave.
In Egypt, Morsi was removed by the Military with popular support.
It isn't the best option, but there have been times when it was the only option.
Stopping a rogue POTUS might require the same, but only as a last resort. It is not a step to be taken lightly.
The book 47 Ronin touches on this as well. Even though it is fiction, it has some basis in history.
While it is convenient to have someone else swoop in and save the day, in the end we are all responsible for doing everything in our power to stop the criminal acts of this regime, long before we can call upon those in the Military to imperil their lives and careers to throw out officials the American People elected, even if the majority of those people regret doing so.
Unless there is blatant evidence of treason or other violation (ordering troops against the American People, for instance), anyone in the military who would consider such a step has to know they would do so with the full support of the Nation, and that the civilian courts would agree with their action, otherwise, it is they who would be in the dock for treason.Even if they performed flawlessly with no loss of life and did the task with that full support, it is likely their careers would be over in a nation which holds high the precept that the military is subservient to the civil authority. It is not a step to be taken lightly.
Butter, you do some fine work. The situation is frustrating. Don't get carried away by that. We have to prove beyond what any fair person would consider a reasonable doubt that the corruption exists, and that is tough. It must be so tight that even a liberal would convict if the names were redacted. (you'd have to do that because at the first scent of their 'messiah' they'd swoon and all bets would be off). All things in good time, the history books aren't written yet. Remember, our military folks have a lot on the line, too, Keep in mind who changed the ROE and how the casualties rose (in Afghanistan), and you get the picture.
