Hot, tired, and wanting a relaxing lunch at my favorite Italian scratch restaurant, I ducked the South Florida raindrops and went inside. There was my favorite waiter so I felt this was going to be a great respite. Wow. Was I wrong! The young Italian American and I are friends; we go way back, to the first few months I moved down here and bought my home from this hard working, sincere young man. So we could and did talk freely in between his serving other customers in the busy place.
He told me his tale of woe at the hands of the IRS that made me so mad that I still recoil many hours later. They took over my bank account, he said. His car payment was going to bounce if his sister hadnt helped him out. He was about to lose his only means of transportation. He had a large student loan debt plus other debts that were giving him a lot of grief. But the worst blow of all was the $100,000 fine that the IRS told him he owed them or else. The IRS can and will seize your accounts.
And yet plenty of FReepers support this so-called tax on gain.
I just had to fix that!
The IRS and a dozen other agencies and departments are only the symptom of the criminal malady.
let historical credit fall where it is due.
It wasn't easy to effect the total breakdown of the oldest Constitutional Republic on earth.
The IRS has our bank accounts... pretty much like giving your password to all you do in American life.
I think we should build private trust accounts under some legal umbrella like corporations do, “redistributing” the stuff ourselves and keep the government from having access. Enough of this crap.
Wonder how a guy like this ended up owing so much? Did he not report tips and the IRS came up with an amount they figured he owed?
Also, from what I know you get fair warning from the IRS before they seize your stuff.
Don’t get me wrong, I think the IRS should be outlawed...but I think this kid had reason to anticipate what the IRS did to him.
The IRS is the American Gestapo. It is finally starting to dawn on people what the marxist evil is all about. The greatest blow we could strike for freedom is to eliminate the income tax and with it the elimination of the IRS and all it’s related evil.
Wishful thinking!
Would it help if you have multiple bank accounts, and don’t keep too much money in any given account?
Just a thought, that even if the IRS freezes an account they know about, what about the ones they aren’t aware of?
And what if you own gold, or other valuables, not in the form of cash?
I know.
Definitely. Cash is really a residual difference after a barter deal reevalued by insitutions like banks and now the government slaves.
It only has value because the government demands it as legal tender.
