FBI Director James Comey was back before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday and had few answers to offer a passionate U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, about the ongoing IRS investigation.
Cruz began his line of questioning with a focus on what he called the persistent stonewalling from the administration on this matter.
It has been 372 days, just over a year, since President Obama and Attorney General Holder both publicly stated that they were outraged at the IRS improper targeting of conservative groups and individuals, he said. And yet, despite the passage of time, very little has happened.
But he seemed to encounter even more stonewalling from the FBI director, who repeatedly said he could not talk about certain matters because of the pending investigation.
At one point, Cruz had a spirited exchange with the chairman of the committee, U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-V.T.
Cruz was in the process of berating Comey for yet another non-answer when Leahy stepped in, almost as if it were his sole responsibility to protect the new director, to say he had answered the question appropriately.
The interjection resulted in Cruz firing back at the chairman.
I would note for the record that when I introduced an amendment before this committee to make it a criminal offense to willfully target American citizens based on their political views, the chairman and every Democratic member of this committee voted against it, Cruz replied. I understand that theres not an interest among some members of this body in learning what happened.

So far, Ted Cruz is not like John McCain, allowing the stonewalling. Ted will publicly call them out on the cover up.
I was under the impression that this was already illegal.
He did break through the ice on this one. FBI Director has an extreme advantage with, “I cannot say - it is an active investigation.”
CRUZ: Can you say to date if anyone has been indicted?
DIRECTOR: Yes - because that is Public Record. NO ONE HAS BEEN INDICTED!
NO ONE - ZIPPO - NADA - Not one indictment! Not a smidgen of evidence of a crime...
wow! Cruz owned them. Too bad his dynamic grilling will be ignored by the Corrupt Liberal Media and 95 percent of the voters will never see it.
Nixon had to resign to avoid impeachment because of his alleged improper use of the federal government to go after his political enemies. But Watergate was a scandal only because the CLM hated him and hammered him 24/7. If Nixon was a Democrat, Watergate would have been, at most, a one day story in the back pages of the Washington Post.
If Ted Cruz is not at the head of the Rep ticket in 2016, then our country will for sure go further to hell.
Howz’ ‘bout Ted Cruz and Col. West in 2016, and then let’s see who gets thrown at us by the Dummycrats.

So far, I’m fine with Cruz because he is the real deal.
The position of VP is normally a nothing burger (Joe Biden?) . Allen West’s strengths and talents can be much better applied as SecDef, where he would clean house! ....JMO
I would note for the record that when I introduced an amendment before this committee to make it a criminal offense to willfully target American citizens based on their political views,”
So it’s ‘legal’ for the government to target Americans based on their political views huh? Ok.
Comey is corrupt.
He prosecuted martha stewart over nothing and sent her to prison for publicity reasons wheen he was the United States Attorney in New York.
He’s clearly kow towing to Holder and slow rolling the IRS investigation.
He pretends to be squeaky clean but in reality he’s stonewalling.
“Allen Wests strengths and talents can be much better applied as Sec Def, where he would clean house!”
I agree with you here. My dream ticket would put Dr. Ben Carson in charge of cleaning up the VA mess. As for VP, Geo. Bush, Sr. (I think), said all you need is a clean suit, because you attend so many funerals. That’s a little simplistic, but basically the VP is an ambassador and representative of the president and the US. IMO Sarah Palin would be a good VP. She would represent the US honorably and with dignity and could give Pres. Cruz good advice.
Traitorleahy and Traitorcomey are a disgrace to the United States of America.
That's my personal choice for 2016, too. What a conservative dream team.
Ted Cruz is jousting with Windmills but doing an admirable job of it. The Dems on that committee will make sure nothing comes of it.
I would like Allen West as vice president with the understanding that the Secretary of Defense would report directly to the Vice President. Allen West is a patriot of the first order.
Keep on making us proud, Ted, keep on making us proud
______________
BTW, Doormat Republicans Boehner and Cantor, what Ted just did is what y’all never, EVER do!
Tick-tock - - - - .
If Hillary doesn’t run, it’s because she knows Cruz will destroy her in the debates, and in the political ads. He will cut her no slack.
Unconstitutional though it may be...
Gowdey/Cruz is the ticket... God willing.
The North American debate champion (individual & team) would whip Hillary? LOL
