I once worked at a Vending Company.

I didn’t buy 1%, 2% or whole milk/soda/juices/chips/assorted snacks and candy for over a year. Anything that was “out of date” had to be pulled from the machines. They had “pig barrels” that it got tossed into and hauled off by the Pig Ranchers to feed troughs.

I started sorting things by date code and sent to oldest to the pigs.

Had plenty for Me, Friends and Family.

Amazing the waste in that biz. That explains why the items are so pricy. It covers the losses.
