In this weeks LA Weekly, the left-leaning free publication and directory for escorts and marijuana dispensaries, provided a cover image depicting various aspects of the conservative coalition, engaged in a tug of war for control of the GOP. One of the illustrated characters among the contingent was the image of a Klansman, donning the white sheet and hood, yet another example of Progressives hinting at the prevalence of racism within the conservative political movement. The campaign to paint conservatives with a broad brush of hate and racism runs in conjunction with their obsession and deception about the nature of so-called hate crimes. While the political left in this country has a track record of being notoriously soft on crime in general, there is one sort of crime that brings out the inner-prosecutor in them more than any other, that being an alleged hate crime. In a recent example, Huffington Post contributor Jessica Ou made the case that the murderous rampage by troubled madman Elliot Rodger should be properly listed as a crime motivated by hatred of women, stating, "it is also true that #YesAllWomen are affected by sexual entitlement." It's a narrative that suits the Progressive-left perfectly in that on one hand liberals are able to indulge in their narcissistic (if not Freudian) fantasies of being "victims" of an American culture they feel estranged from, and furthermore affords them the opportunity to perpetuate their lies of playing the role of savior for the assumed primary victims of hate crimes, minorities and homosexuals.
For conservatives, the entire concept of "hate crimes" is viewed either with an air of skepticism or as a needless redundancy. Most conservatives view the nature of crime itself, particularly when a group or individual targets another with ill intent, as hateful regardless of the involved parties race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. To take delight or satisfaction in the misfortune or pain of another human being is the precise definition of evil. For those with a strong sense of faith, that the forces of evil play on our lesser-nature and utilize our fears, resentments and suspicions of those different than us is only a matter of expediency for the malevolent forces who thrive on our wickedness. The left as a political movement has become increasingly secular, even hostile to the notion of faith, and the concept of "good and evil" has for the most part been obscured with one notable exception, that being a crime of hate. And because they reject the notion of individual good and evil, the prosecution of hate crimes themselves are not limited to the individuals who committed the acts, but the entire American culture, whom the left accuses of being a responsible accomplice and primary provocateur.
While we can argue the validity of making moral distinctions about crimes based on demographic differences between victims and offenders, the reality is that hate crimes presently carry a documented distinctness and there is some tangible value in the collection of this data. But even in this regard, the duplicity of Progressives is at work to manipulate hate crime data to perpetuate their nefarious lies and political goals. Among liberals in the media (including social media), entertainment and academia, the conversations regarding hate crimes have purposely been demagogued so as to elicit in our minds the visions of Klu Klux Klansmen burning crosses on the lawns of helpless African-Americans, jack-booted skinhead thugs chasing and beating down homosexuals through darkened fields in the wee hours of the night or vengeful "flag waivers" taking their misguided patriotism out on those of Arab decent. Even the Justice Department itself, under the direction of its current leadership, has become a willing participant in molding our perceptions of these sort of crimes with selective highlighting and data categorizations.
The desired narrative on hate crimes is that they are a reflection of the inherent racism of America, an America still a "victim" of the legacy of slavery, white-male privilege and our puritanical Christian past. We are conditioned to believe that victims are primarily minorities (specifically black or Hispanic immigrants), white homosexuals and, now, #YesAllFemales. The stereotypical caricature we are meant to envision as the primary perpetrators are, of course, white males, with a southern twang, driving a pickup truck with a confederate flag, John 3:16 sticker and/or mudflaps adorning the silhouette of a nubile young woman.
In 2012 there were two homicides which shattered families named Martin. These two killings occurred within weeks of one another on opposite ends of the country, in both cases the victims were African-American males. One instance, that involving the death of Trayvon Martin in Florida, garnered international media attention and the outrage of millions of Americans, as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson combined forces to lead vocal protests and rabble-rousing which ultimately served to further divide Americans based on race and ideology. Another man, Fredrick Martin Jr., was brutally slaughtered by gunmen while he cleaned out his garage in Inglewood, CA. In this tragic incident, two gunmen, reported as possible gang members, mistakenly targeted Martin for retribution and approached his residence in broad daylight and pelted the home with gunfire. The hail of bullets threatened to hit his young son, but Martin acted with uncommon heroism, rushing to the scene, grabbing his son and protecting him with his body, ultimately forfeiting his life in the process as the bullets tore into him.

Few within and far less outside of Los Angeles are aware of the latter Martin. There was no national media attention, there were no rallies and there certainly were no protests, commentary and anger from Sharpton or Jackson. There was no political profit to be gained from highlighting this sorrowing case of a man who was the first in his family to graduate from college, was working toward advancing his career with Kaiser Permanente, coached his son's Little League team and was building a better life for his family. There was nothing to be gained for the Progressive-left who depends on black Americans dismissing the 2,447 of black victims of homicide that year who die at the hands of black assailants, when so much power and financial gain can be made by playing on their fears, suspicions and anger of that community by focusing rather on the 193 who were killed by white offenders. In case you were wondering, the killers of Fredrick Martin are still at large, and most likely still victimizing primarily members of the African-American community.
The perpetrators of this narrative have a motivation that is not so much racial as it is political. That this lie is born and fostered by white Progressives is important to note as we look at the reality behind hate crime statistics. While this nation certainly has its share of Sharpton's, Jackson's and La Raza race-hustlers who profit from this, they are simply petty opportunists who are dancing to the beat orchestrated by the maestros of racial and class division, the largely white Progressives whose distortion of hate crime statistics is meant to strike directly at the only force which stands between they and a total "transformation of America," that being American conservatism which the Progressive defines as white, largely Southern or rural and overwhelmingly Christian.
As conservatives, its important that we understand this in order to properly focus both our emotions and activism in combating the Progressive menace. Their primary goal in construction this view is to further alienate white and minority populations from one another. It is important for us to remember that both white and minority Americans are the targets of their wickedness. While they engage in an outward display of giddiness at demographic figures which show American becoming more racially diverse, basing this glee on the assumption that this will result in the demise of the Republican Party, they recognize, far better than we, that this eventuality presents the left with more potential pitfalls than it does opportunities.
Their political survival depends on maintaining the approximate 90% share of the black vote as well as securing in upwards of 65% of the Latino and Asian vote. While their Tammany-Hall like dominance of urban politics has proven quite successful at achieving these numbers for the past few decades, their own failures of leadership, the trend of upward mobility among 2nd generation Latinos and Asians and technology itself are major barriers to their long-term goals of a modern, Starbucks and iPhone-friendly Marxism. Recent polls indicate that Democrats hold on the Asian vote is tenuous at best, and when one factors out Spanish-speakers, the GOP achieves a near mathematical tie with Democrats with the Latino vote. And while there is no question of Democratic dominance in relation to the African-American vote, young black males are the fastest-growing GOP constituency, as Mitt Romney received a 20% portion of the 18-29 black male vote, compared to just 1% of similar females.
That these trends are occurring during a period in which the Democratic Party nominated and elected the nations first non-white President has their liberal-progressive leadership quietly expressing fears about the future of their Party. To combat these fears, they have ramped up the racial rhetoric in an attempt to shore up their hold on the minority vote, as well as the younger, white urban vote who sides with Democrats largely on the perception of them being the more "tolerant" and exclusive option. Thus, it is no coincidence that leftists paint the Republican Party in the same fashion they do the "typical" hate crime offender, white and Southern. The underlying message from the white-Progressive left is that the Democratic Party is a bulwark, defenders of a harmonious new "black and brown" America, to overcome the pervasive and inherent racism of the "old" American, white and conservative.
With this in mind, let us explore the actual hate crime data, as related to where it occurs, the offenders and the victimized. Contrary to popular belief, a belief which is the manifestation of the lies of Progressive-liberalism, the vast majority of "hate crimes" coincidentally occur in the four states that provide Democrats some of their their largest (and safest) number of electoral votes every four years. The top four states where hate crimes are committed, California, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts (Another blue state, Michigan, ranked fifth) account for 2,512 of the 6.330 (40%) reported hate crimes in 2012, according to the FBI's database. These four states alone provide Democrats with 109 electoral votes, factor in Michigan and this accounts for 128 votes, a full 47% of the votes needed to put a candidate in the oval office. Allegedly racist southern states rank at the bottom of reported hate crimes, with Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi accounting for only 35 total hate crimes. Higher population "red" states Texas and Florida reported 165 and 130, respectively, still far below the "blue state" norm.
As we look at the data, broken down by incidents per 100,000 residents, we see a slight shift in the "leaders" of hate crimes, but the pattern remains: hate is much prevalent in the so-called tolerant bastions of Democratic rule. Solidly-blue Washington DC, Connecticut, Oregon and others lead the nation in the propensity to commit so-defined hate crimes. As we see in the number of reported incidents, when we compare the two highest populated states, Democratic California and Republican Texas, we see a stark difference in attitudes toward our fellow citizens as California proves to be far more intolerant than the Lone Star State.
What remains is to examine what drives these inconvenient facts which shatter liberal-Progressive lies as they relate to hate crimes. Any attempt at doing so will have a degree of supposition attached to it, but one possible factor can be found in the data that is NOT collected by the FBI. While there data gathering mechanism accounts for hate crimes committed against those of Hispanic ethnicity, it does not factor this same metric to listed offenders. As is the case with most US population demographic, Latinos are first placed in the overall "white" category, then factored into a separate category of "White, of Hispanic origin," when the results suit the purposes of liberals, of course.
One theory at Eric Holder's reasoning for these omissions is that it helps perpetuate the liberal-Progressive myth of American progress being thwarted by the inherent racism of an American culture held hostage by white-male privilege. The FBI page on the subject highlights the claim that 58% of hate crime offenders are white, although it does also note that 23% of offenders were black, despite accounting for only 12% of the overall population.The data lists 384 incidents as being crimes committed with an anti-Hispanic bias, but again does not factor in hate crimes committed by Hispanic against others. From an analytical standpoint, it simply makes no sense to utilize a particular data point on one bend, but to omit this same category from another. But from a political standpoint, it makes absolute sense.
Over the past decade, we have seen an increase in the number of incidents involving violence, intimidation and animosity between Latinos and black Americans. One of the more horrifying incidents in recent memory occurred in solidly-Democratic Highland Park, California, just northeast of downtown. In a case reminiscent of the post-Reconstruction era south, members of the Hispanic Avenues street gang purposely targeted African-American residents in hopes of driving them out of the area. In the case, former Avenues street-soldier Jesse Diaz testified that the gang, in conjunction with the Mexican Mafia, orchestrated a premeditated campaign of systematic violence, intimidation and murder to eradicate the "infestation" of blacks moving into the predominately Hispanic areas around Highland Park.
Similar incidents have occurred in areas around Greater Los Angeles as well as other major cities. Some of these cases can be explained as turf-wars between rival gangs, in hopes of securing a given area for the economic benefits and control of the rackets of various neighborhoods, although racial animosity is certainly a driving factor as well. To further complicate the matter for Democrats, many of the perpetrators involved were thugs who are illegal immigrants, who remained in the country despite having been previously arrested for other crimes and released due to a liberal-Progressive agenda which seeks to ultimately enhance its political clout among Hispanics by portraying themselves as sensitive to the plight of illegal immigrants from Central and South America. That these criminals largely prey upon Latinos and other minorities is of course obscured by left-wing rhetoric deigned to paint opposition to this "sanctuary" as another example of white, conservative racism.
In another shocking incident in Los Angeles, 17-year-old Jamile Shaw was brutally slain by Pedro Espinoza, a known gang member and illegal immigrant who had just been released from jail for another crime the day before. Shaw was by all accounts a model student and football star who at the time was being recruited by Stanford and Rutgers, among others. He was murdered by Espinoza less than a block away from his home. His mother, Anita Shaw, was serving overseas in the US Army at the time of his slaying, and was flown home for his funeral. While much of the left-wing media hushed up the story, it was conservative media that led the outrage, as witnessed by Fox's Bill O'Reilly who ran numerous segments on the tragedy.
As previously discussed, Democratic hopes for future dominance and an eradication of conservatism and the free-market system depends on selling minorities in urban strongholds on the promise of a "black and brown" coalition that will eventually hold the needed population figures to undo the current American political structure and "transform" America, with the promise that this will improve the lot of those at the bottom. It's pretty much the only card that Democrats have to play. Burdened by the fact that progressive policies in the inner city have proven to hold back the progress, in many ways catastrophically, of black and Latino Americans. Under Progressive Democrat leadership, our fellow citizens in the inner cities have seen single-parent birthrates, incidents of abortions, poverty and hopelessness increase at shocking levels. Because the actual cause of this despair is of their own doing, Democrats have no other political choice but to wickedly divert the attention away and turn the focus on the invisible boogey-man of white-male privilege and American conservatism.
This need to "divide and conquer" is exposed on so many levels as one peers into the politics of Democratically-controlled inner-cities. While publicly speaking of the common-cause of black and Latinos, their primary policy objectives squeeze the economic opportunities for those living in these areas and create a condition of competition that breeds resentment and leads to the violence that tears apart families and neighborhoods. The two-headed monster of amnesty and minimum-wage hikes hit the job prospects of younger African-Americans and Latino (American) citizens the hardest. Many of the entry-level jobs that teens and young adults have traditionally begun their professional careers with have increasingly been filled over the past two decades by immigrants here either legally or illegally and in possession of falsified work documents. This in turn creates a Newtonian condition where young black and Hispanic men see their opportunities decreased and more susceptible to the evil playthings that accompany idle time.
So although both groups of young men are victims to liberal-Progressive skullduggery, their anger and frustration is cast against one another. The aforementioned two-headed monster of amnesty and minimum-wage battles, combined with a quasi-Marxist punitive regulatory mindset against small business limits legitimate economic opportunities and further inflames the competitive nature of black-market racketeers. This cycle of violence, hate and despair then is utilizes with demonic efficiency to alienate both the black and Hispanic populations from conservative efforts to bring needed change to the politics of the inner city. By placing blame for the misfortunes of the cities on white-male privilege as personified by American conservatism, renewed efforts by Republicans to reach out in these areas are rendered that much more difficult. By instilling a suspicion among black and Latinos as to the motives and intentions of conservative activism, residents of these areas are less-likely to consider that there are in fact other alternatives combating the problems of the inner-cites, and liberal-Progressives are much more successful in perpetuating the lie that increased bureaucratic involvement is the only route available for black and Latinos to progress in American society.
For the political left, the campaign against "hate" is not simply an emotional response but a covetous necessity. By falsely promoting the nature and statistics behind hate crimes, Progressives are successfully able to perpetuate the dirty-little lies that obscure the brutal truth that their political power depends on a system of dividing Americans against each other based on race, while doing their best to limit the economic opportunities for white, black and Latino alike, so that by controlling us, they can "save" us.
