Beethoven was his best, IMO. Immortal Beloved, great movie.

I was watching a bluray of the old film "Leon: The Professional" last night and was amazed at the magnificent performance of Gary Oldman.

It was a particularly unsympathetic part that Oldman played in this film. The real test of a great actor is how they handle such a role... it's easy playing the hero. Oldman was entirely believable playing a sociopathic DEA agent.

Oldman can pull off some really diverse roles.

He's really fun to watch when he goes off the reservation. Two performances that come to mind is the cop in "The Professional," and Zorg in "The Fifth Element."
