People simply do not comprehend why and how the economic policies of the post-war era are imploding. This whole agenda of socialism has sold a Utopian idea that the State is there for the people yet it is run by lawyers following their own self-interest. The pensions created for those in government drive the cost of government up exponentially with time. The political forces blame the rich and this merely creates a class warfare with no resolution for the future. Even confiscating all the wealth of the so-called rich will not sustain the system. Consequently, we just have to crash and burn and start all over again.

I wonder if we aren’t losing it already to a great extent. Ten years ago I flew with my pre-teen grandson and two friends from Houston to California and the four of us drove from San Diego up to San Francisco, spending lots of time visiting areas in between. Never thought of being afraid or concerned. Wouldn’t think of repeating that now, even if I was carrying.
Lots and lots of places in Houston I wouldn’t dream of driving through that several years ago I didn’t think a thing about.
My world has gotten a whole lot smaller and I pay attention to everyone and everything around me. I often ask myself if it is because I’m older and feel more vulnerable or because there are now more situations that are beyond my control because of societal changes.
When their food stamps are cut off they will starve.
They only know dependency.
On who can they be dependent once the gov't fails to feed them.
I prefer to think of it as we’re living in a fireworks factory and there are idiots running around inside it with lit road flares.

We will lose our safety gradually...so we won’t notice. Just like every other freedom we are losing.
I guess I was referring more to a complete collapse...when people can’t move around in any safety at all.

Well, it is either to keep order, or to commit mass murder. I think mass murder is probably closer to the truth.
Given that the takers put ZER0 hours into the common welfare, they are going to be cut loose soon.
Should we all be based on a subsistence economy, so be it.
They are not preppers. They pick up the phone and call the power company.
They are the most dependent of all. When the gov't shuts down they will be begging with those previously on food stamps.
