I would say, more than likely, that is exactly what they plan.
I have plans to teach my youngest grandchild how to cook and build things using carpentry tools (he’s 10). He’s an outdoors boy. Loves riding horses and does horse shows. Since he likes Science, I intend to teach cooking kind of like a Chemistry class. The skills will be useful in a multitude of areas of life. He already knows how to shoot and clean those tools.
That ‘something’ is already well planned and well underway. The We The People Republic no longer exists and the oligarchs are about to collapse the nation, to rid themselves of the dependency class (they created), via riot, mayhem, starvation and disease, while the oligarchs wait it out in their protected and well stocked enclaves. The city dependents are too dumbed down to see it coming.
We need a revolution in this country. I don’t see how anything less is going to bring back sanity and reality
Revolution is no longer possible. The economic reset has already been started. we have a controlled collapse underway and things like thousands of illegal immigrant children flooding the border are part of the diversion instigated by the oligarchs who care not one whit for human life, only their own empowerment.
It is a revolution already and we need a counter-revolution
It is a fascist oligarchical coup, IMHO.
bump
The home schooled kids will be running it. Wouldn’t that be a hoot!
200 servings??
That is a deal
Yeah not bad, I am sure they over estimated a bit, but still a decent deal and kind of shocking to see it in Walmart of all places.
Looks like prepping has gone mainstream :)
The way things are done these days the purchasing manager can very well be a thousand miles away, not very convenient for them to take it. Those who are close by may not even be aware what is being stored where.
Indeed. Eventually, socialist systems become over burdened and fail. We are so far down the path, we may have reached the point of no return, where there is nothing anyone in Government can do.
We’ll either get out of the mess by returning to smaller government and spending reduction, or things will eventually collapse.
I hope and pray for the best for our country, and prepare for the worst for my family. What will be will be.
These public school kids tried to tell us dictators made the best leaders with tyrants coming in a close second. Of course, they couldn’t name one dictator or what he did that was so wonderful. One made straight As last year.
Surely, their parents have some inkling what they’re learning in school and approve or else they’d already be pulled out. With that mentality, homeschooling might be worse.
Well, we feel like complete failures but know it isn’t our fault. We just now packed the boys off to another relative who has an equally pansy boy. The last straw was asking them what they wanted to do today and got zero response. We went through the two dozen activities they’d turned down before - hiking, geocaching, the cavern, swimming, bb gun, putt-putt, kite flying, board games, exploring around the neighborhood on foot or bike because there’s all sorts of wildlife along the river, or learning to ride a bike, playing with the month old kittens, going to a playground, fishing, archery, learning to flintknap, putting together the toy racetrack, etc. Still blank stares. Asked them if they wanted to go swimming in another part of the lake where it was shallow so they could play ball and chase each other - blank stares. We’re on the water and they couldn’t be bothered to swim yesterday so they didn’t have to worry about packing wet suits.
Hubby grilled fajitas last night but they refused to help him. They also refused to touch a tortilla or any of the fixin’s and only ate two bites of the meat. They really don’t eat anything but steak. The day before I made potato salad, green beans from the garden, fresh veggies with dip - no. One did eat a chili dog 3 days ago. Last night, they roasted marshmallows but weren’t interested in catching fire flies or watching deer. Since they had barely eaten, this morning they decided to have their cereal out of the dreaded styrofoam bowls.
Ok, fine, I don’t have to waste my time on rude bumps on a log. I just called the neighbor to not bother letting us know if he catches the bothersome raccoon in the live trap. Guess we’ll be the talk among the relatives. Well, make that us and another uncle who is a big meanie because he once gave them noogies (oh, the horror!). Oh, well. We’ve never had kids here who didn’t have fun. Their loss, not mine. If this is what kids are these days, I’m glad ours are grown (20s) and were able to experience being real kids, have solid life skills and aren’t ignorant of the world around them.
Lemme tell you that if either of my grandsons came to visit you they would never ever leave. You gave it your best shot and I’m sure there are a lot of kids who would just be delighted to do all that fun stuff. And you did show them that there is another side of life. Maybe one of these days they will want to take advantage of it. Don’t beat yourself up. You should be thankful you didn’t have to try to entertain their parents. That might have been worse.
The daughter of one of my clients goes to college at Emory University. Her wardrobe is almost entirely composed of cowboy hats, jeans and cowboy boots and she prefers to read instead of playing video games and/or watching TV. Some of her dorm mates refer to her as a Texas hick and can’t believe anyone would wear those “awful clothes”.
So sad that kids don’t know what real life is all about.
btt
And yours would be welcome.
It’s sad those college aged “adults” haven’t grown out of middle school and can’t see past one’s outside. If they haven’t learned by now, they probably never will. I went to a little podunk university the summer out of HS where there were about 100 students in the dorms from all backgrounds. We learned quickly to get along with each other, otherwise it would have been a long lonely summer. Hands down, that was one of the best times I suspect for us all.
