What a load of oral diarrhea.

When making points, i often tend to get carried away and become more verbose than I should. But I still manage to make my point.

This guy obviously likes to l listen to himself talk and wants to inject words and phrases to make sure everyone knows just how smart he is, which would be fine if he could get to his point, but he can’t.

I admit to being disappointed. Liberals are usually very efficient at unknowingly telling you exactly what they are thinking, often in the first sentence, if not the first few words. And I am usually grateful to liberals for their inadvertent efficiency, because it has saved me so much time that I have fewer regrets about time I will never get back.

But this one forced me to read huge swaths of blather. Kind of pisses me off.

This is pure nonsense. The left never tires of convicting, accusing. But they don't offer any solution that does not involve government as the prime mover. Yes we are in some troubling times, what country isn't? Nothing a return to the Lord won't heal.

I get the feeling that the author, Jim Sleeper, wets his pants at the very thought of an armed private citizen.

>The takeover of our educational system and media by socialists is the rest.<

.
The takeover of the judicial system by the RATS is what is the most ominous move that I can think of. Once that is gone, every law of the land will be up for grabs.

Think Islam, sharia and then the end.

Poor stupid Satan-worshiping liberals.

They whine about greed and self-interest and wonder “what can make us give this up to become enlightened people who look out for each other out of a sense of love and selflessness?”

And then they say that there is no room in their new order for God and Jesus Christ.

Liberals are a cruel joke on themselves.

I liked this line:

"...In 2008, Barack Obama seemed to incarnate so brilliantly the promise of weaving our diversity into a new republican discipline — he even invoked Puritan and biblical wellsprings in some of his speeches — that many people ’round the world considered him a prophet who would satisfy their hunger for new narratives..."

He is one of those who gets a tingle up his leg while thinking of the Dear Leader, or an erection at the creases in Obama's pants.

“We’re right to dismiss the Puritans’ theocracy because it was repressive and hypocritical. But we’re wrong to have lost a side of its animating spirit that would have kept markets from controlling and devouring republican government and even our bodies and ourselves.”

This is particularly hilarious. We told people to get their morals out of the public square... but we didn’t mean it!

“three Yale seniors I came upon one wintry morning in 1968 as they gave university chaplain William Sloane Coffin, Jr., their military draft cards to announce their resistance to the U. S. Government on behalf of the American republic.”

Lift your feet, this fairy’s BS gets thick here.

Evil people have always walked amongst us and mass murder is nothing new in America or worldwide.

The moral decay in America is certainly attributable to the waning influence of God over the egos of men and women, a product of the liberal's socialist revolution.

There is a spiritual power vacuum in America and a liberal mindset that says it's OK to fill that vacuum with whatever feels right. And so now we have a public black mass scheduled in Oklahoma City for september 21st.

It's all further complicated by decades of deinstitutionalization. Once the loonies were allowed into the gene pool, insanity run amok was inevitable.

Then there's the drug abuse, another product of the liberal's social revolution.

and an education system which does a fine job of indoctrinating children into the liberal's social revolution but which fails to prepare the majority of children for the changing economic/industrial realities.

And the promiscuity, another product of the liberal's social revolution, which creates so many more liberal socialists for the indoctrination machine.

and the liberal immigration policies which add even more useless eaters to the ranks of the liberal socialist revolutionary ranks.

And yet the liberals are surprised when white working Americans are investing heavily in guns and ammo?

Good grief, what an embarrassment! That's what Salon gets for paying Sleeper by the word.

I had a little bet with myself just how long I could go today without some buzzkill a-hole trying to take the life out of Independence Day for me, and I was doing pretty well until I ran into this torrent of self-righteous rot. This isn't even the quality of a decent undergraduate essay, and invoking Hegel, Dylan Thomas, Emma Lazarus, and heaven help us, Edward Gibbon, is not a mark of erudition, it's a snow job. Incidentally, he might want to check his references on Gibbon, who refused to meet with Franklin out of pique at the outcome of the War of Independence. Franklin famously remarked that he'd better begin the Decline and Fall of the British Empire, and Franklin was right.

It is occasionally useful to have the entire litany of liberal complaint wrapped up in a single package but it's an awful slog to mine the thing for actual semantic content. We are told in one paragraph that the Puritans - the American ones - were merciless theocrats, and several paragraphs later we are given the cheery reassurance that Sleeper isn't advocating a return to that set of values. That isn't actually what we were suspecting at that point, but I suppose it's good to know.

Parading a clatch of murdering schizophrenics across the top of the article as symptomatic of American "rage" leads the attentive reader to wonder before a paragraph is done if Sleeper has any idea what he's talking about, a question that is all too promptly answered in the negative by the time the second paragraph is done. His list of villains responsible for the demise of whatever grotesque image of the country he's carrying in his head lacks a single entry: that class of people for which America was born in original political sin, built by oppression and prospered through theft, a blot on the world and the enemy of human freedom. For these, cursing the nation at the celebration of its independence is an annual obsession. If Sleeper truly believes that the nation is "spinning apart" he might consider not turning the crank quite so hard himself.

Oh yes, Glen Beck and Sarah Palin. So they're the rabble rousers and do the thinking for the little-men who what? Buy guns? Wave flags? Pray to God?

The horror! The horror!

Capitalism run amok?

We don't have capitalism. We have big-government/big-corporate crony fascism.

But let's pretend that everybody and everything we hate is the problem, and not the things that actually are the problem.
