Update: reportedly Malaysia Airlines has confirmed that plane "Kuala Lumpur -Amsterdam" went off the radar in Donetsk oblast, possibly shot down"
First it was MH-370. Now, it appears tragedy has struck again, this time on Malaysian Airlines flight MH-17, on route from Amsteram to Kuala Lumpur, which disappeared from radar moments ago and was reportedly shot down over Ukraine. While there is nothing yet officially confirmed by the carrier, the radar tracked path of the airplane is shown below.

(though zero hedge is a blog, this has some relevant info)
any comparison yet to the flight path of Putin’s plane?
Not yet. That tidbit is just barely out there
Of course, because it is Russian propaganda.
Need independent verification of anything coming out of this.
The flightaware (first one) is what I saw after the reports started about an airliner being shot down. About an hour ago, flightaware updated their track to mimic the other sites. (Green track extended from on the west side of the Ukraine to the border of Russia)
Ok, then—RT tweeted that Superman stuck the plane out of the sky with his fist. No independent confirmation, yet.
Let's not forget, not only the evil man who set things into motion, but the weak, incompetent, effeminate, inept enabler who emboldens the thug; then covers for him and looks the other way when he does evil.
Obama is hiding under his bed.
They have nothing to gain from publicizing this - assuming it turns out there are further coincidences between Putin's flight route and that of the fatal airliner that would put them both in the area of the attack. Obviously someone deliberately targeted a large jet cruising level at 33K feet and squawking commercial signal. Who and why?
Goes on to reference Russia Today. LOLOLOL
I love FR.
I am so stealing that animated gif...:)
This is ridiculous. Why on earth would anyone think Putin would be stupid enough to fly his personal jet over Ukrainian airspace?
The article you link comes from a known propaganda source that bases it’s “speculation” on the fact that both planes travelled east from Warsaw, Poland on the same day. Hundreds of kilometres from any Ukrainian border.
likewise it is ridiculous to call this “Russian propaganda”
There is NOTHING Russia gains from this report or from this entire incident
seems like either a stupid accident by idiot “separatists aiming at what they thought was a Cargo flight, or a false flag to make Russian look bad which it does
as I said, the source to be credible would need to supply further information indicating Putins flight traveled toward the same area
It is Russian propaganda, because the speculative claim that Ukraine shot down the plane because they thought Putin was in it was generated by a Russian propaganda outlet.
I agree though that neither Russia or the rebels would do this deliberately, having nothing to gain here. I think that it was probably an accident on the separatist side, as all the evidence seems to point that way. Namely:
1)Rebels had claimed they had acquired Buk-M1 SAMs in June.
2)Rebels had already shot down a number of Ukrainian aircraft in the last month, including a high altitude AH-16 transport jet.
3)Rebels were proudly claiming on social media that they had shot down another plane until news that it was a commercial plane came out.
4)Rebels had shot video of themselves shooting down the plane, which they believed was an AH-16.
5)Ukrainian SBU claims to have tapped calls of rebels finding out they had just shot down the wrong plane.
6)The plane was shot down in the middle of rebel controlled territory, and the rebels have since surrounded and closed off the area to reporters.
