If Michael Sam doesn't have a job by next Monday, he has at least one standing offer. WWE has invited Sam to appear on the Sept. 8 episode of Raw.

During Monday's broadcast, the company said it would give Sam an 'open microphone' where he could tell his side of the story -- whatever that means.
Call me crazy, but I don't think WWE is going to get the first post cut day interview with Sam. The rookie defensive end was released by the Rams on Saturday and still hasn't found a team to sign with.
Although showing up on Monday Night Raw probably wouldn't make any sense for Sam, the offer makes plenty of sense on Vince McMahon's end....

Works for me, nothing gayer than fake wrestling.
The WWE product is completely unwatchable by this old school wrestling fan.
They spend half the show talking about Twitter trending, online voting, pushing all their “owned” content originating on WWE Network etc. Meanwhile they haven’t created a true, in house, born and bred superstar act in over 10 years.
We’re approaching 20 years since the birth of HHH, The Rock and Stone Cold. The Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Randy Savage era is 30 years old.
I feel bad for fans of those two eras who haven’t turned the product completely off out of habit, loving the few remaining wrestlers from those eras showing up or are trying to make it a teenage rite of passage for their kids like it was for them.
The WWE is so far removed from any kind of “glory days” or having any current WWE wrestler being relevant to the mainstream that they’re reduced to this. This isn’t Mike Tyson or Muhammad Ali showing up at WrestleMania. It’s a news cycle story that just a year from now will have people asking “What the hell were they thinking?”
WWE creative is awful and the product is unwatchable. This is a symptom of that, not a reason.
Rumors have abounded over the years about “professional wrestlers” and homosexuality. Well done, WWE for furthering those suspicions.
WWE Can have him. . . . . . and vice versa. . .
You’re right. I haven’t watched since those days, Stone Cold, The Rock... It was never about wrestling, it was physical theater. Now, a what 249th doing draft pick gets cut? What a shock! How many other picks from the far end of the draft pool have been cut? They don’t make the news. Is it because this guy is gay? Oh, but the MSM doesn’t discriminate. Right, snort. They aren’t treating him any differently, he is just unique, a good story. Ha. I bet if they bothered to look they’d find something interesting about most of the other guys that have been cut too. But they won’t, because they are only interested in this guy because he’s gay. They are using him. I hope he’s smart enough to see that.
The WWE ? That is still around? Well with 5000 channels I guess they need something to fill all those slots............
There is a Mexican Luchador who wrestles under the name of Super Gay. Perhaps a challenge cage match is in the offing?
Wahoo McDaniels was a gentleman athlete compared to these WWE weirdos.
He’s long gone, of course.

Ah for the olden days of WRESTLING! Ringside from Chicago with Russ Davis! The Great BOLO! GORGEOUS GEORGE! Midgets!
Those were the days. Still fake but fun.
