There are countless sounds cataloged of strange, weird sounds, many might just as well have originated in a parallel universe or dimension.
Two specific examples are 1.the utterly alien sound emanating from the World Trade Center recorded just a few days ago and appearing on Fox News.
2. Similar spine-tingling sounds occurring during the Holocaust Memorial Siren in Israel signaling two minutes of silence and also separately during the memorial for the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 against the Nazis. But there's a huge collection of strange, freaky stuff recorded coming out of anywhere, but appears to be emanating from the sky or who knows where. There's one video taken on a porch with very eerie sounds and someone taking a deep breath every 30 seconds or so. Might be the hoaxer himself.

I don’t know which category of yours this is appropriate for. Check it out, anyway. It’s super-freaky, outer-worldly.
"Oooh, SCARY!"

Remember when a theory existed of ... In space, nobody can hear someone scream. The theory consisted of no median for the sound on which to travel. Oops theory disproven.
I’m still under my covers with no limbs sticking out to prevent them from being chopped off. Can’t be too careful. I gather you were not impressed with the World trade Center sounds. I wonder if you would go up to the top when the sounds re-emerge. :-)
Not really. Just like in “Alien” being aboard a spaceship with a breathable atmosphere, just you and the always affable creature, you can scream and yet no one will hear you, no one human at least. The term ‘hearing you’ is a euphemism for ‘rescuing you’.
dang ... but me wants to stay on Earth ... No capture and spaceship plan, please.
It’s the “Doctor”
IIRC, NASA has several CDs of sounds from space. They are interesting and spooky, too, with sounds from planets, etc. They prove that ‘space’ is not silent.
"MAKE HIM STOP!!!!"
The WTC sounds were kind of strange, but appear to have a logical explanation (high winds). At any rate, I am generally not spooked by such things...I find our politicians much more creepy. :)
On a side note, have you ever heard of the mysterious booms called "Seneca guns"? I live in eastern NC and have heard these myself several times over the years while at the beach. Strange.
