Last year, the actual average salary increase was recorded at 10.9 percent across industries, the report noted.
The study that we have conducted predicts that the pay raise in 2015 will remain in double digits. At this point, the general market can expect the median salary increase and salary hike figure to stay between 10-11 percent, said Amer Haleem, country manager, Productised Services, Hay Group India, adding that salary increase would be lower at higher levels, with maximum increment at clerical levels, followed by junior management....

Large average wage hikes are typically associated with inflationary cost of living adjustments more than anything else, so it may not be all that wonderful a thing, it may just barely be keeping pace with rising expenses. Better than not getting it and losing purchasing power, I guess.
Biggest corporate lay-off in history is expected within days, with IBM believed to be scrapping 110K
IBM denies rumor of 100,000 layoffs but confirms several thousand layoffs
And what is the inflation rate expected to be in India this year?
“Inflation Rate in India averaged 8.98 percent from 2012 until 2014....”
I’ll be lucky to see my 2.5%
What’s the real inflation rate here versus the official figure?
How come my county in Maryland is being flooded with immigrants from India who are not the least bit social to those who are NOT immigrants from India?
My next door neighbor moved in less than a year ago has been here in US only 7 years and just got his wife and kids here recently.
He works an IT job for the Federal government naturally.
Because Americans aren’t going to school for IT?
Cheaper, harder-working and better English literacy. If I need a virtual assistant in the future, PI is where I’ll look.
Ontario, Canada?
I’m sorry man... :-(
Better than not getting one, right?
” Because Americans arent going to school for IT?”
We have many if not most of the finest hi-tech/engineering schools in the world. There is NO reason to bring these tandoori chicken munchers here to take our jobs!
Yap...
I couldn't get to this before now.
Its a different age demographic than me but from the young adults I have talked to here in my county I would say yes, the Indians and Koreans are dominating those going to school for that.
Lots of woman here get BSs in biology, totally worthless.
Many jobs in sales or as personal trainer in a fitness gym(its posted on the gym wall) .
I met a young woman in the mall selling health aids with a biology degree.
A young woman I know here graduated with a computer science degree last year and said that the ratio of men to wimmin in that program is like 20 to 1.
I have heard young engineers tell me its the same for them, almost all Chinese, Koreans or Indians immigrants on student visas taking engineering, and they are like the only American in the class who are speaking English socially.
Those schools are filled up with foreigners on student visas: mainly Chinese and Indians.
American kids want jobs as journalists or economists or history majors then live with their parents after they graduate with those degrees while working at Home Depot.
Don't worry, the American born generation of those same foreigners will get degrees in Kardashian and will live with them till they are 35.
” I have heard young engineers tell me its the same for them, almost all Chinese, Koreans or Indians immigrants on student visas taking engineering,”
I’ll bet these foreign kids are paying “full pop” on tuition.
Otherwise, I believe there would be more Americans in these classes. Another problem might be American kids are afraid to go into hock just to have an Asian get their job. Sorry, I just don’t buy what is happening. Both my parents were college professors(Johns Hopkins & Tufts) so I know how administrators in academia operate. By and large, they are scumbags.
