False is the idea of utility that sacrifices a thousand real advantages for one imaginary or trifling inconvenience; that would take fire from men because it burns, and water because one may drown in it; that it has no remedy for evils, except destruction. The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are of such a nature. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. ― Cesare Beccaria

They would not have been able to push homeland security thru if it werent for 911, we surrendered some of our god given rights and freedoms so government could “protect us from the terrorists”. Seeing how this worked so well the terror issue has been played and funded from both sides, red alert, orange alert, videos played at nausium thru media of terror leaders making threats keeping us on edge, our feckless leaders ahve never faced the threat head on and erradicating it because it serves a purpose, thier purpose. As we move forward they ask, do you want us to help protect you from this new threat? well you will have to sacrifice more of your freedoms so we can all be safe. erroding our god given rights over time is the goal until on day we will wake up serfs

I trust the federal government for what is defined in the U.S. Constitution, only.
Anything else is suspect of attempting to usurp what is rightfully mine, and mine alone.

Noting that the ill-conceived 17th Amendment (17A) undoubtedly helped to foster many of the unconstitutional safety nets that have trapped so many low-information voters into being dependent on the unconstitutionally big federal government, please consider the following.
With the exception of having the constitutional authority to suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions (1.8.15), the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to provide safety nets.
In fact, several historical constitutional authorities, including the Supreme Court, have clarified that the Founding States left the care of the people with the states, not with the feds.
- Our citizens have wisely formed themselves into one nation as to others and several States as among themselves. To the united nation belong our external and mutual relations; to each State, severally, the care of our persons, our property, our reputation and religious freedom[emphasis added]. Thomas Jefferson: To Rhode Island Assembly, 1801.
- Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country. John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)
- 7. Sovereignty, for the protection of the rights of life and personal liberty within the respective States, rests alone with the States [emphases added]. United States v. Cruikshank, 1875.
As mentioned elsewhere in FR, 17A has to go imo.

The great thing about having AGW, climate Change or whatever as a cause is that the main named agent is the increased levels of CO2 in the atmosphere and that is a problem that is not going away unless some great natural event makes it happen. So from now till the crack of doom we can blame EVERYTHING on manmade CO2 and spend trillions tilting at the CO2 windmill.
