Rand Paul. Senator Rand Paul. Dr. Rand Paul. A reasonably acclaimed, self-proclaimed Republican candidate for the 2016 presidential election. Frankly, I’m not really crazy about him. Surely there must be somebody better out there. If I were his campaign manager, the first thing I’d do is find him a new hairdresser!

Savannah Guthrie. NBC News Anchor. Lawyer. Married to Mike Feldman, former aide to VP Al Gore. It’s possible that you never heard of her until this past week when she hit the big time by accosting the Man from Kentucky on national TV.

Senator Paul had been a declared candidate for only two days, but the Demos and the Mainstream Media were already tearing him apart. Not for his voting record, not for his political views, but for his “insensitivity toward women.” The imaginary War on Women represents the agreed upon topic of attack against Republicans, as chosen by Democrats and the rest of the far left for the upcoming campaign season.

Ms. Guthrie was interrogating candidate Paul with a long, drawn-out “when did you quit beating your wife” type of question, setting her own narrative of the Senator’s changing position on foreign relations. Finally, Senator Paul asked, “Why don’t you let me explain instead of talking over me, OK? “Before we go through a litany of things you say I’ve changed on, why don’t you ask me a question?”

Republican candidates all need to have damaging tidbits regarding their democrat media questioners, just as GHWBush did with Dan Rather. He made Rather devolve into anger and display his partisanship with one, single tiny sentence. It will work again on the lesser mouthpieces of today.

I remember Guthrie from her MSNBC days. She was a snarling democrat shill, which she let slip out with Paul. She lost her cool much worse than he during that interview.
