And meanwhile other folks have been carrying on like marriage means something
(OK, yes it is a serious issue, but being sardonic on purpose here)
Wow.
Well... Who’s crying now? Na na na na, nananananah....
I never understood the raping of the spouse crime. Can anyone explain? I’ve heard some liberal types talk about that subject, but, as with many liberal causes of the day, don’t quite understand where they are coming from or why it’s the end of the world as we know it, if liberals don’t get their way and enact laws on the subject.
Please, Steve Smith is the drummer for Journey. This guy is from the band Bad English that Schon played with.
He’s in Journey and still he needs to rape people? I mean come, on just tell women you are the drummer for Journey and probably at least 1 in 4 would give it up willingly.
I saw the doc on Netflix on Journey which is a must see. Deen is your typical high energy rock drummer that probably has a very short fuse esp when bathed with alcohol and the other. IN comparison to the other members, who are low keyed, mature, stable...you got the idea that Deen was like a fire cracker, but I imagine he attracts the same kind of ladies.
I have known Gary Cherone from Extreme since 1980. We laugh when he is referred to as the ex-singer for Van Halen.
The Party’s Over”
If one forces one’s spouse to have sex against their will, that is rape.
Ok, just work with me here.
How do you go into court with something like this? The husband will say it was consensual sex.
I would also say that if such cases end up in court, the marriage is over. Just saying.
If one forces ones spouse to have sex against their will, that is rape.
1 Corinthians 7
4The husband must fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband. 4The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 5Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
But then, maybe theirs was not a Christian marriage.
There could be physical evidence, like bruises and such. And if he is treating her that way, the marriage needs to be over.
That verse says she has authority over his body, too. If she tells him to stop, he should. Don’t try to use God’s word to condone the abuse of a person.
If one forces ones spouse to have sex against their will, that is rape.
Based on the above, the husband can’t rape his wife, because her body is his. It may LOOK like rape, and it may be a bad thing, but rape is a different thing. For starters, the woman can’t be your wife for it to be called rape.
For the record - I’m merely arguing word definitions, not morality. I would NEVER force myself on my wife. My ex forced me into 14 months of celibacy and I was NEVER motivated to force myself on her. Ever. Oddly, she claimed to be Christian...
