I think there’s a salt mine near Waller. Not sure how big or deep it is though.

“For example, just 1200 Feet below Detroit...”

Oh, just 1200 feet below you say? Well, I’m hop in my self-propelled drilling apparatus and swing on over...

"...just 1200 Feet below Detroit there is a salt mine that can easily shelter over 5 million people."

Easy enough to get down there, but a lot tougher to get back up...

Not Mont Bellvieu, but in Hockley.

Actual mining like a coal mine.

Maybe it isn’t anymore..

Had to go back to ‘88 to find a decent mention of it...

What could go wrong spending time with "over 5 million people" 1200' under Detroit?

And people thought the Astrodome after Karina was bad.

American Association of Petroleum Geologists did a tour back in 2006.

I'm guessing they weren't opening for Ozzy.

Still and all, there is supposed to be a dome fulla crapgoo under there.

LOL! I’m screwed.

The closes “mines” to the DC area are:

Gina Mines, State Farm Real Estate Agent
These Eyes of Mines
Dr. Sabilika Mines, MD
The Water Mine Family Swimming Hole
The National Mining Association.

Frankly, following the logic of this article, my best bet would be to follow the subway lines to Crystal City or Ballston Station.

So it’s just like above-ground Detroit?

I have my areas nuclear bunker locations. They are in a book called Personal and Family Survival A well written book. Has maps for everyone’s local area. It was published by the DoD Office of Civil Defense in 1966. They were given to everyone back then.

Kinda makes ya wonder what all the money spent on the Department of Homeland Security really gets ya.

Crapgoo is dangerous stuff. It should be kept in salt mines.

Meanwhile in Mont Bellvieu, we keep putting more holes in ours and expanding the ones we got.
