Thousands of black men, women, and children convened at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., for the “Justice or Else” rally to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March on Saturday (Oct. 10). Some celebrities were in attendance including Diddy, Common, J. Cole and Snoop Dogg.

Also in attendance at the rally were rappers Jay Electronica, Jeezy, Ty Dolla $ign and Bryshere Gray who plays Hakeem on Fox’s hit show Empire. Rap mogul Russell Simmons and Public Enemy founder Chuck D was also spotted in the crowd.

The event was organized by Nation of Islam leader the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan who called for an economic boycott of Christmas, among other things. Prior to Farrakhan’s speech, several civil rights leaders appeared at the podium to demand justice for the killings of black men by the hands of police.

Melina Abdullah, a Black Lives Matter leader, urged black men and women to fight for their civil rights. “Pulling our pants up will not save us,” she said. “Our college degrees cannot save us. Our middle-class status cannot save us.”

Elsewhere, hundreds marched to the event chanting the chorus from Kendrick Lamar’s anti-police brutality song “Alright” from his To Pimp a Butterfly album.

The peaceful event was a reminder that there’s still more work to be done in the ongoing efforts of maintaining civil rights and equal justice for African-Americans....

The 1960s civil rights laws were supposed to turn them into good middle-class Americans.

Looks like they are getting a lot closer to a million than previous Million Man Marches. It’s become fashionable.

And I wonder at the content of the speeches: Boycott Christmas? Well if you’re the Nation of Islam, what is Christmas to you anyway? Demand justice for the killing of black men by police? Why not become a little more particular about the battles you choose on that one. Y’all DO need to pull your stupid pants up. It’s just plain stupid and gay as hell. And how much more do you need than preferential treatment for your education and entry into middle class among other benefits of victim status to recognize you have the same civil rights plus! as the rest of us citizens becoming subjects?

Black lives matter? My word! Blacks might not even be a minority if they would stop killing each other and so many of own their babies.

I know, it’s racist to point out the elephant in the room.

Now I know where “the white woman at”.

I missed this event, but did catch Calypso “Mother Ship” Farrakhan and his unintelligible gibberish in 1995. Still have my button in case anyone asks where I was back then.
Never got close at a “million man march”. Maybe 25-50,000 if you include the curious who dropped in for a few minutes.

I’m surprised just looking at Comrade Cornel West didn’t scare off a lot of period. He looked like the actor Clarence Williams in one of the “CreepShow” episodes.

DC also had a Taste of DC food fest at the same time and not far away from the Klowns Klan rally so I suspect that some of the curious mosied on over to check out the anti-white freak show.

Just speculatin’.

Thousands??? Looking at the pictures, maybe hundreds. If you then subtract all the "celebrities" there to attract them, maybe dozens.
