I was originally anti Carson because he’s a race pick
Then I grew to like him
Then I read the American Thinker breakdown and got alarmed
Now he’s unraveling because the media is killing him and he sad for him has exposure
So I’m back to my original hunch but better informed
As if human beings have all the answers.
As a med school professor for many years, the one consistent thing I’ve noticed about successful medical students is their abilty to absorb and retain material that they’ve seen only once. Carson did his part in picking up the knowledge from attending class and studying, but his faith helped give him the confidence that he would do well on the test. Confidence is often as big a part of success as is preparation. A person can be well-prepared to take a test, but if they lack the confidence in their ability, they are likely to struggle and second-guess their answers.
Nor is any adherence to any form of the 11th commandment.
You started it, Thumper, and there is no 11th commandment.
It is clear these "objective journalists" (i.e., card-carrying members of the Democrat PAC) are having a field day slapping around this man -- this accomplished surgeon -- whom they truly consider to be nothing more than an "uppity negro" because he is not behaving like they have been taught to think a black man should behave -- that is, blindly loyal and deferential to The Party.
I have not trusted him all along. The humility angle combined with a tendency to never miss an opportunity to talk about how wonderful he is raised my hackles.
That is why I like Trump. No need to wonder what he’s really all about.
I sometimes would dream that I was speaking in German when I was taking classes to learn it. It was probably helpful in retaining the memory of German syntax and words.
No, I called your kettle black.
I really don't care if you believe that faith or prayer or belief in a Creator exists. Carson must. If Carson believes that it was God or Jesus or whomever that helped him through his doubts and crises, then so be it. Many people have had that belief and have accorded the Creator with helping them through thick and thin.
On policy, I will question Carson. On his faith, I will not. Nor will I stand for anyone mocking any person's deeply held religious convictions.
11th Commandment.
California, 1966.
That’s fine. Just leave me out of your perverse reverse politically correct witch hunt.
That said, you might want to be careful of mindlessly accepting anyone who is on a mission from God. That doesn’t always turn out so well.
Where in the bible is this commandment, since it is being erroneously equated with the original 10 given to Moses?
I can see why Trump sends a tingle up your leg.
Me? Humblegunning? Never.
Just found it odd that the bulk of this person’s posts are critical articles, with responses few and far between.
Don't be obtuse. If you have been awake for the past 50 years, you've heard of the "11th Commandment". Especially if you were a Conservative.
Of course I have heard of it, but are you really going to use it in the way you are? As a way to silence opposition to The One?
Careful. Your bile is showing. Please take the high road.
This is a dream. I get that. But, how does one take notes in a dream and remember them the next day?? why didn't he study the notes he took in a real class?
I just don't see how Jesus could help him "cheat". I think it's the other entity who would do that. In my experience God performs a miracle AFTER I have exhausted ALL possibilities while keeping in touch with Him along the way. He then takes over. He has never failed me.
What Carson said, I'll take it with a grain of salt.
"The personal attacks against me during the primary finally became so heavy that the state Republican chairman, Gaylord Parkinson, postulated what he called the Eleventh Commandment: Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican. It's a rule I followed during that campaign and have ever since."
The goal was to prevent a repetition of the liberal Republican assault on Barry Goldwater, attacks which contributed to Goldwater's defeat in the 1964 presidential election. East Coast Republicans like Nelson Rockefeller labeled Goldwater an "extremist" for his conservative positions and declared him unfit to hold office. Fellow Republican candidate for Governor George Christopher and California's liberal Republicans were leveling similar attacks on Reagan. Hoping to prevent a split in the Republican Party, Parkinson used the phrase as common ground. Party liberals eventually followed Parkinson's advice.
Christopher would lose to Reagan in the Republican primary, and Reagan would go on to defeat incumbent Governor Pat Brown, the father of current (and former) governor and former California Attorney General Jerry Brown.
I’m still keeping an open mind on Carson, while not tilting my head too much so that my brain falls out my ear.
