This is nothing new. When I went to OTS way back in 1985, we had a female in our flight who failed the fitness test three times. The rule was if you failed three times, you were out. But she was given a fourth try, the same day after not even coming close to passing in the morning, in private, with only our instructor and another instructor present. They all came back after lunch with the great news and we were all forced to applause. So much for the Honor Code. It was all BS. We will pay a heavy price in our society for such fundamental dishonesty.

I thought it was going to be physical requirements that the women could not pass....I never thought that it would be a mental skill that the women could not pass.... this is real scary and makes me wonder if this woman got to her position through family political connections not her own achievement. I would love to see her paper work om everything she has done the last 15 years because I bet this is not the first military school that she has been shepherded through.

We’ve paid the price; we’ve lost two wars, and our birthrate is practically 0.

That was nothing new either. I took an Army MOS producing class in the early 70s. We had a black 2Lt in the class who failed the first phase three times. This phase was basic electricity which covered about what you would cover in the first two weeks of an electrical engineering class in college.

The failing 2Lt had a degree in electrical engineering from a major black university. He was granted the MOS but with non-troop duty annotated in his files. The school was told to pass him since he would be the first black to hold that MOS.
