I think that a post-battle analysis is helpful not to judge people but to understand how enemy victories occur.

Well said. When it comes to self-defense and personal initiative, few other places in the US treat peace-loving people like peasants than an airline business. Of course, it is a unique environment.

Well, excuse the hell out of me, Mr. Self-Righteous. I wasn’t judging anyone, except to express admiration for their bravery, and I’m not sure just what you mean by “parse” in this context. It was and is my opinion, expressed as an opinion, that patriotism would not have been their primary motivation. If you have any firsthand information to the contrary, please tell all of us.
And what’s this “armchair hero” crap? Did I say anything at all about what I would have done in that situation?
