To those who supported Fred Thompson in '07, who are you voting for this election?

I remember the contentious back-and-forth here on FR during the 2007-2008 campaign season and many on FR were fawning over Fred Thompson's entry into the race and encouraged his attack on Mike Huckabee, who was also running for president at that time. What I would like to know from those Thompson supporters is: who are you voting for in this years in the primaries?

I voted for Cruz in the Texas primary, but I am disappointed with his “blame the victim” on the Chicago riot.

I am sorta in that same boat. Was going to vote for Cruz in FL, but that comment he made and the stance he has taken on that, really chafes me. I think FL will put an end to Rubio's candidacy though...

I voted Cruz in my state’s primary. Trump won.

If Trump is the nominee, I’m voting for him.

I was in Thompson’s corner because we didn’t need another fraud from Arkansas in the White House. And we saw it result in Huckabee throwing his votes in West Virginia to Traitor Bastard John McCain proving me right.

I’m supporting Cruz this time.

Fred was a placeholder for McCain.....and thanks to those who REFUSED to even look at his record or admit he was McCain’s best friend, we got stuck with MCCAIN!

Fred Thompson, Newt Gingrich, and in 2016 either Cruz or Trump - but at this point, preferably Trump. I lean towards the candidate that sends the clear message - there is no milk money for playground bullies anymore.

Trying to pick a candidate this cycle is like trying to pick which STD is better to catch.
I’m writing in Gen James “Mad Dog” Mattis. There is a small movement in the Marine Corps community to write him in.

Whether Cruz will be any more successful than Thompson remains to be seen.

He already is imo...Thompson was a real dud.

I voted Hillary in 08

My father, who is so far to the right of me that I can barely see him on the horizon, was literally rubbing his hands with glee at the thought of voting AGAINST Hillary in the '08 Primaries.

That was back when the predominant thought was, "Obama? Meh, he's a lightweight. Doesn't stand a chance... Now Hillary! is the one who's dangerous."

I still remind him of it from time to time, that he personally got Barack Obama elected. :-) He's almost over it, now. Might only take him another decade or so to cool off.

Cruz early and often in line with Illinois tradition.

In other news, Ronald Reagan, Everett McKinley Dirksen, Studs Terkel and Abraham Lincoln are organizing the Chicago cemetery community, prepping them for Rahm Emmanuel's first presidential primary appearance to rally the no longer living wing of the Chicago Demonratic Machine to turn out in force for Her Royal Thighness. TNT is considering making the rally a centerpiece of an episode of The Walking Dead.
