Assessment of Trump (vanity)
Freerepublic ^ | 11 May 2016 | Impimp

1. Trump good on foreign policy - he likes Russia and has problems with NATO...sounds good to me 2. Trump on Social issues - he says he is prolife so I can't complain here 3. Trump on Taxes - they get lower so he is great here 4. Trump on immigration - as long as he keeps the Muslims out and the illegals get sent back then he might be the greatest President ever when it comes to immigration

So far Trump is 4/4 with impimp.

5. Trump on trade - he is a protectionist and will be the worst president we have had on trade issues since FDR, who allowed mercantilist policies turn the depression into the Great Depression. How can we get his mind right on this issue? Clinton is better on trade and he needs to soften his stance.

If it isn’t fair trade, it isn’t good for trade.

Yeah, no kidding. America should like one person - America. The rest are socialists.

Trump is keenly aware of Israel for it’s economic, scientific and medical prowess. Opening free trade routes with them would be just what we need to introduce competition with American insurance-fed medical technologists that we need to bring costs down.... and then onto defeating Obummercare.

Likewise, he’s keenly aware of the BRUTAL economic beating that South Korea is going through with China. Opening trade with SK will make China squirt blood from it’s eyes.

The point of his foreign economic policy is NOT to be friendly and compliant. It is to make other countries fear screwing us. To show them who is boss again. And to do that it would appear these countries may need a little break from its normal business with us.

“A day without an American” so to say.

I agree with you on “5”. I hope he modifies his stance on trade - he must.

Our current trade situation: America loses, always. No exception. All trade deals are made in favor of the other countries, we get screwed in every way.

All of our manufacturing has moved out due to this. If we had a world war, we would be defeated because we have no manufacturing base. So I don’t understand why some protectionism is not warranted. The other countries are 100% protectionist and its working great for them!

I see. We should continue to get ripped off on trade and continue to watch our jobs go overseas. What happens when nothing is made here? Oh wait....
