Over the past couple of weeks, Time Warner high speed here around Columbia has been randomly dropping out due to DNS getting lost.
An outage can be a few minutes to pushing half an hour.
I've changed DNS to some of the open ones, found a firmware update for the router and applied it just to rule out things at home.
I was looking to see if anyone else was experiencing the frustration.
If I posted this incorrectly, I'm sure the mods will handle it.
I have the Tecnicolor modem(renting it from TWC) 200 speed Im in LA, haven’t had any issues with DNS but sometimes my internet does go out. We also have our phone service with TWC(Bundle package of TV/internet/Phone) I would contact TWC about this, and they can credit you if there is a problem with the router
None up here in Maine.
Dont use their DNS service.
Here... find a faster/better DNS service.

Once you know which DNS servers to use either set them up or ask me how.

Easier benchmark.
Either that or just add 8.8.8.8 as a nameserver. Problems with DNS solved.
I have thier Arris modem/router, a month ago I was having intermittant internet connection losses. It went on for a few weeks with outages lasting 30 sec to a few minutes. It cleared up with out any service calls. I am in SE Wisconsin.
Try Verizon.
Looks like your under a nuclear attack......
Downdetector

I’ve been looking at Downdetector a few times since I discovered it a few days ago looking into this recent spate of outages.
A denial of service attack wouldn’t surprise me either, not that TWC would admit to it.
I installed a new modem/router yesterday. TWC sent me the newer Arris for my old Ubee. No problems. Charlotte
