Now is the time for all good political leaders to come to the aid of their party, said Don Fowler, who helmed the DNC from 1995 to 1997, during Bill Clintons presidency, and has backed Hillary Clinton since her 2008 presidential bid. I think the plan should be developed by 6 oclock this afternoon.
...
Fowler noted that at one of his first-ever DNC meetings, in 1972, he supported a decision to nominate Sargent Shriver a member of the Kennedy clan to replace Thomas Eagleton as George McGoverns vice presidential nominee, the only time either major party has replaced one of its two national nominees.
Though that transition was relatively seamless, he said, replacing Clinton would be much more acrimonious and could lead to intense lobbying by loyalists to Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders. Thats why, he argued, the party should be prepared.
This is a different time, with a lot more people who like to express themselves and perhaps wrest control, he said. Im sure some of the Sanders people would want to get into play and some of the Biden people. I think youre likely to have at least discussions and perhaps controversy.
The Clinton campaign and DNC did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Sanders folks would go full drama queen on the subject as they should. Already cheated out of nomination once.
Eight weeks exactly to the election and this is Hillary’s last chance for the presidency. Fat chance you Dems are gonna yank her off the ticket. Not happening. You were happy to put up with Bill and Hillary’s crap for so long and now you’re gonna pay the price for letting them stay around. You got four years to get Michelle ready for her presidential run.
Michelle O would be the favored scarey choice among low-information voters. She would be hard to beat.
How rapidly can advanced Parkinson’s disease debilitate?
The Beast has been a public figure for 40 years. The last media to regularly vet her was in Arkansas. After the Clintons appeared on 60 Minutes in 1992, the national media vetting stopped. The media and rats have only themselves to blame for propping up this horrid human being as their nominee.
WHAT SHE DO LOSE A 100LBS /S
Maybe, it had more to do with softening makeup, hair, clothing style, plus a more upbeat tone in her voice talking about our country. Or the absence of her usually angry chip on her oft shown black shoulders. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the girly dress she wore to Martha’s Vineyard—shoulders covered, cleavage shown, and feminine. Something’s up. She could beat Trump easily with her popularity among youth, minorities, women. We’ll see if HRC limps, or is dragged, to Nov.
Thanks
Between Fowler. Ted Strickland, Cokie Roberts & David Shuster... It has been stunning how quickly they jumped on this.
Will Hillary become a friend of Bill?
So, Fowler is basically saying that Hillary is lying.
‘Sanders folks would go full drama queen on the subject as they should. Already cheated out of nomination once.’
What a rough way to word it! I myself have the highest respect for Sanders [up until after Super Tuesday — ehem].
Another patriot I admire and respect is Jill Stein. She’s the ONLY candidate taking the environment seriously — enough to get arrested for vandalism during this camapaign.
Then there’s Gary Johnson. Demorats are foolish to not consider him. He supports sane gun control measures and CARBON CREDITS for the environment.
[E-HEM! I need to clear my throat before I go ‘all Hillary’.]

Josiah Bartlett hid his MS from the public when running for President.
Is Hillary doing the same?
New poll in Maine, Clinton up only 3.
Trump up 10(!?) in CD-2. Clinton up 18 in CD-1. Trump up 21 with Men, Clinton up 17 with women.
Polquin up 5 over Emily’s List Cain.
LePage trailing by 22 in hypothetical 2018 Senate matchup with Abyssinian Shorthorned Zebu Queen.
Warning, don’t ping GOpster about ME-2. ;)
