He's a barometer of the mood of the LIV crowd. His apology and admission is *highly* significant. He's politically savvy enough to know that you don't "shoot at the King but miss" ; and being in Manhattan and in the entertainment world he's likely to know what Trump (The Apprentice) is capable of, if crossed.

No takeback, no admission of lying, and no apology appears.
He knew Trump's power in the industry when he leveled the claim in the first place. I tend to believe his claim, and his takeback is phony. Geraldo is trying to avoid being put under the microscope, and with good reason. He makes Anthony Weiner look like a choirboy.
