One thing I did not see mentioned in the article is the Obama administration had planned to ban R134a refrigerant, which is used in 95% of refrigerators and car A/C units.
The replacements are flammable and dangerous.
” I cant think of any law or regulation that ever helped us in business. They only make it more difficult for us to do business. Therefore, the less they do, the better. Maybe its just a coincidence, but maybe not.
I think he’s on to something.
I also have running around in my head, “I love it when a plan comes together,” for some reason.
I have a Goodman gas furnace and within less than 4 years, simultaneously the main blower unit (made in Italy) crapped out as did my papereight thingy, Goodman PN B1370142,(made in Costa Rica) (a small control of some type (has MPL embossed on its front). Cost me $450 for the parts since I had not paid a less than honest major company the warranty fees (they stiffed me by selling my account to a bank that charged double the monthly payment fees, without telling me so that I could have refinanced the payments at a much lower rate).
Then about a month ago, I had a better company come out and a do a semi annual maintenance cleaning and it worked fine. Three days later, the whole damned $1,030 computer control panel dropped dead. Fortunately I had taken out an annual service contract with the new company and it included parts warranties. They honored it and the service only cost me a few dollars.
To me, GOODMAN ain’t so GOOD. Stop using imported parts and really give Americans back their jobs.
