The excerpt seemed to me to be talking about indoctronation in the classroom. My kids sure got it beginning in grade school and continuing in college. Group think, Group projects, etc.
In hindsight I’m glad it happened so early, so we could talk about it at home and explain things differently and point out what the schools were trying to do.
Now in college, they are all staunch Conservatives and not afraid to speak up for what they believe.
My one daughter had some class after the election and the teacher thought it would be good for the class to say something they still were thankful for and what brought them a smile, and to think on those things on that terrible day.

Yes, the article is more about indoctrination through various means rather than the practice of psychiatry itself. With that said, in the spirit of FReeperdom tradition, I was responding to the headline rather than the meat of the subject. As TBP notes we are sliding a Soviet style mindset and practices. My response was more tongue in cheek (as is common with me).
He said a class he is taking now is titled something like “Cultural Psychology”. He thought it was going to be about the different brain developments based on where people lived or grew up - culture, food, beliefs, etc. “I thought it might be really interesting to see how all of that affects us. And how to interact and deal with people with other nationalities. Instead, the professor makes it out that everybody’s problems are due to Western white males.”
I'll stick with my liquor store strategy. I know, alcoholism is a great enemy of mankind BUT the Bible says to love your enemies.
