Spicer: Um no, which bathroom you use is not an issue for the federal government

"You're asking us why we're following the law . . ."

How much absurdity have we signed on for when there’s not just one question about bathroom use at a White House press briefing, but the bathroom questions go on and on and on . . . even though they’re basically all the same question and they keep getting the same answer? Sound familiar? Google “Trump presser Russia.”

Our federal govenrment repealed a federal law banning gays from serving openly, and what happened?

The military is one of the few areas where states are, and have never had, authority. But you see my point - when the Federal Government has power, all it takes is a leftist leader, like Obama, to declare his administration will enforce, such-and-such gay "rights" or social engineering policy.

Don't give Fed.gov the power over other areas - such as marriage, bathrooms, education, etc...

The founding fathers discussed this matter at length. They decided not to include it in the Constitution. All joking aside, you don’t need to be a psychiatrist to know that these people are sick. They are increasing. They own the schools. We are doomed.

shall we give them power over medical and medicines? There are federal laws which protect the entire nation from medical malpractice, and from medical drugs that are rushed ot the public without any sort of testing

There is a A fine line when it comes to government’s responsibility to protect the nation and when it is a state’s duty to do so- Issues that affect all people across the nation become federal responsibility when lives are on the line

Just because a democrat leader steps in and violates their powers doesn’t mean the government should have the power to regulate certain things in the first place for the safety of the nation- Gay marriage was NOT a national issue- it is an invented issue as there was never any such thing as ‘gay marriage’ to begin with and the second point is that it was not a safety issue- that was a purely social issue- opening women and children’s bathrooms up to perverts from hell is a national safety issue-

Where do you propose the Federal Government's power over the States stops? The 10th Amendment gives them authority to handle all but the enumerated powers of the Feds and this ain't one of them. There is no "Noble Cause" clause in the Constitution.

((% of our problems are there because the Fed has trampled the 10th Amendment for a long time.

Sorry that should have read:

Just because a democrat leader steps in and violates their powers doesn’t mean the government should —”NOT”— have the power to regulate certain things in the first place for the safety of the nation-

I completely disagree.

This is a national issue that all 50 states should take up.

The federal government should never be used as a clearing house/arbiter of everything “good.” States should coordinate and perform such functions.

Even the Commerce Clause is stupid and terrible—we are regulated because someone growing something in a garden affects the ability of someone else to profit? REALLY?

No, we are NOT!

Pull yourself together man!!!

We BEAT them in the general election. They are desperate. We just got ONE justice on SCOTUS and we are going to get another soon as Ginsberg can’t hold out much longer. We will also be getting more Senate Seats in 2018, we picked up most governorships and legislatures.

THEY are on the ropes. THEY are desperate! But UNLIKE REPUBLICANS, they NEVER admit defeat. We need to emulate them in that regard.

We have a President who is a FIGHTER and not a wussie like the Bushes. Start sending letters, e-mails and making phone calls to your representatives in Congress. Tell them Trumps speaks for YOU and you want them to support HIM.

Well i guess we should just do away with federal medical malpractice laws, federal child prostitution laws, federal medicine safety laws then? You know, since they are to be considered ‘noble causes’ and all?

Do you realize how many lives have been saved because of medicine safety requirements? How many children have been protected thanks to federal prostitution laws? etc etc etc? While there may not a a proper ‘noble clause’ there is such a thing as moral decency and common sense-

Just so. The Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution says:
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
It doesn't add "except in matters pertaining to protecting sexual deviants from women and girls, in which case the Federal Government takes over."

The point is, allowing Obama's extra-Constitutional decision to take effect gave the State Governors and Legislators an excuse to NOT deal with this. "Hey, we can't do anything about it! It's a Federal issue!" Well guess what, boys and girls of the states? The ball's in your court now! Deal with it!

Oh, and if you don't, your businesses won't be happy - that'll get fixed pronto! Not years, not months, PRONTO!

It is best to let most things be handled by the State, then if it is wrong people can move to a different state, that is the whole concept of states rights.

It is the responsibility of the people in each state to make their own laws on all but a very few issues which are named in the bill of rights, such as the second through the ninth amendments.

The first amendment being addressed to congress and not to the people or the states.

Spicer: Um no, which bathroom you use is not an issue for the federal government

Note--because the same principle applies to a great many situations dealing with Federal usurpation;--how simply stating what is obvious, is sufficient to destroy the argument for usurpation.

Then maybe you think they should also make bullying a Federal crime too - just because you have a fantasy doesn’t make it constitutional.

[[The federal government should never be used as a clearing house/arbiter of everything “good.”]]

That is an exaggeration of the issue- the government is NOT engaging in EVERYTHING GOOD (not yelling, just stressing the key points)_ when it takes up specific issue of national safety

This is not just a simple issue of ‘social issues’ this is a crimes against citizenry-ship issue- public safety is at issue- and just as we regulate medical pills for the safety of a nation, while allowing most herbs to be sold without the strict requirements of medicines- and allow the states to set their own herb laws, there are certain issues I believe the government should step in on when it comes to protecting our citizens such as this very specific issue which is meant to protect our nation’s women and children

Again, comment sense and ‘greater good’ when it comes to public safety of the masses should dictate- Yes the commerce clause is an example of govenrment over-reach, but again, it’s not an issue of public safety like this bathroom issue, or medical laws, or OSHA laws is-

We can make the case against national safety by citing all kinds of cases that have nothing to do with actual public safety as a nation- but hte fact remains there afre certain, limited issues, that are huge issues of public safety-

There are very few things that should fall within the domain of the Federal Government: national defense (i.e., protecting us from foreign attacks); building interstate highways; negotiating treaties with other countries, etc. Unfortunately, the Federal Government has metastasized into a leviathan over the last 100 years or so, taking way too many responsibilities from the states. Then along comes Obama, who essentially treated the state Governors like mid-level managers.

Oh, and you, citizen, you have a problem with something? LOL! Good luck trying to get ahold of someone in Washington DC to help you! Look at the VA!

If power was returned to the states where it belonged - and to the local governments - you would have better contact with your legislators. They would be closer to home, not 1,000 miles away.

God bless Trump for trying to kill the leviathan.

When one decides to ignore the Constitution for their own agenda, everything is on the table - hell, make statutory rape a Federal offense when two 14 year olds decide to hook up...

Well, why not? We're going down a slippery slope already. The TRUE "protection" job of the Federal Government is national defense (protecting us from foreign attacks). But now it seems the job of the Federal Government is protecting women and girls from rape and murder. Let's throw in bullying! And micro-agression!

LOL! Good one! Forgot about that! Let's have a new Department in HHS for that one!

So, imagine how this country got along before Federal overreach.

People used unsafe toilets, latrines, and outhouses.

People ate food that killed them (hold it—states/counties/cities have health departments, so this is moot)

People rode their cars and horses over unsafe roads.

I could continue, but obviously the concern that the federal government fixed anything that localities or individuals couldn't, is not apparent.

Folks, we have a FReeper who wants a strong regulatory environment.

Federal law against rape and murder of minors-

6. Murder Related to Rape, Child Molestation, and Sexual Exploitation of Children (18 U.S.C. Section 2248, 2251)

https://www.wklaw.com/10-ways-murder-becomes-a-federal-crime/

Why would you argue against federal protection of women and children from molestation, rapes, beatings and murder by perverted men in their bathroom? You know full well many liberal states, if given the chance, will allow sexual perverts free access to women and children in female bathrooms-

Certain issues (that should be common sense) that are not specifically stated i n the constitution are cases which the supreme court does and should take up- especially when it comes to national security- Just because the constitution doesn’t specifically ban someone from murdering another person, doesn’t mean the government should not have the right to create laws to prevent it for the sake and safety of the nation
