Consider this: Yadav, the MD of Skorydov Systems, replies to emails only between 5 am and 9 am. He is not on any of the popular messaging platforms, prefers to discuss things over the phone rather than emails, reaches his Nariman Point office at 7 am every day and ends his day by noon. Yadav believes in sound organisational systems built on aggressive work cultures.
People should be absolute goons with their work; be so powerful and so perfect that others fear you because of the strength and speed of your work, he says.
And this is a principle he applies in his own business. Every company of his, whether he has invested in or is mentoring, is cash-flow positive and debt-free. He pushes his companies to build assets, not liabilities, to pay EMIs, not rents. It is insane the number of hours people spend at the office. If they worked in an organised manner without any disturbance for five hours, their output will double and they will have enough time for their family too, he says. When not in office, Yadav can be seen in a school teaching or at the race course playing cricket or teaching kids about a banana kick in football or mentoring a startup or visiting friends in their office to help them automate their systems. On the weekends, he may be caught up writing poems or airplane flying classes.
Explaining his active lifestyle, the 40-year-old says, I just have 360 months of my work life remaining....
