This isn’t so much about Aruba (who did indeed screw it up but face it, it is a tourist island not a major city). But you still hear about dumb chicks and dudes (the latter with less to fear) going unchaperoned to resort places by themselves to get drunk and wild.

Dont know. My source has video from an undercover agent who claims to have obtained a confession from an accomplice of Van der sloot. They travelled to Aruba to talk with the authorities but claim they were not interested. They returned to FL and spoke with the FBI who returned to Aruba with them.
I watched a brief video of a group walking through a cactus patch in search of the body.
The undercover person is well known on line and claims to have spent several hundred thousand dollars befriending the accomplice and getting his confession.
Could easily be just one more rabbit trail.
Thought it was worth posting as such.
