Rich South Africans invest in green cards (Hiring Americans)
iAfrica ^ | April 25, 2017 | LCR Capital

According to information released by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), South African demand for US EB-5 visas has more than doubled since 2014.

The EB-5 investor visa allows visa holders to obtain a green card for themselves and their immediate family members by investing $500,000 into U.S. businesses provided they create a required number of jobs.

“For the first time, our industry now has access to the actual number of investors who applied, as apposed to just the number of EB-5 visas approved,” said Rogelio Caceres, co-founder of LCR Capital, a private equity investment firm that assists high-net worth investors in acquiring EB-5 visas.

The data is available by country for the last three fiscal years (2016 not available yet).

“This data indicates that the EB-5 market is much larger than we previously thought, and that it’s growing at a rapid pace,” said Caceres.

South Africa had 40 applications in 2015, more than double the 18 applications in 2014.

“We think it’s likely that number will have doubled again in 2016, based on the increased interest we have recently experienced at LCR,” said Caceres.

“Political developments often drive demand in South Africa, and we have again experienced an upswing in requests for information since last week’s cabinet reshuffle.”

Internationally, the highest demand for EB-5 visas currently comes from China, with 13 530 applications in 2015. This is followed by Vietnam (289), India (239) and Brazil (229). Growth in Brazil is fastest, at over 300%.

The EB-5 visa initiative is administered through the USCIS. It enables foreign investors and their immediate families to obtain American green cards by investing in USA business or real estate projects that create jobs in the US.

This immigration channel is likely to be supported by US President Donald Trump, due to its focus on capital investment and job creation.

Last year, LCR Capital offered South African investors the opportunity to invest in the Dunkin Donuts franchise brand through its private equity fund. This fund proved hugely popular and is now closed to further investments. LCR is currently offering the opportunity to invest in the iconic Miami Surf Club hotel, a 1930s refurbishment whose developers are seeking $100-million in working capital from foreigners, which also qualifies investors for EB-5 visas, due to its guaranteed job creation prospects.

What we have here is wealthy WHITE Africans desperately trying to get out of the Nelson Mandela hell hole before South Africa becomes another Zimbabwe.

If they weren’t white we would be accepting them in as refugees instead of demanding they pay $500,000.

They’re coming here and providing jobs in the United States. No one is moving to South Africa.

White South Africans and Rhodesians deserve refugee status in the United states because they are true refugees fleeing black oppression.

They also tend to be some of the most talented and productive immigrants in American history.

Most every South African immigrant to the US I have met is a highly talented and productive member of society.

I have never met a South African on welfare

Having visited SA several times (most recently last year) and having dated a South African woman I have some familiarity with the country. My visit last year was the first since majority rule.During that visit I was shocked by the crime situation.

It's not difficult to see why people with money would want to leave that cesspool of Third World depravity.

I tend to agree with all that you posted!

My soul hurts for the South Africans having to flee their homeland.

As someone who lived in South Africa for years, I can fully understand why this is. I haven’t been back to the country in more than 6 years now, but my friends there keep me up to date and I also follow SA news somewhat closely.

In 1994, when the ‘full democratic’ election took place, Nelson Mandela wanted an approach of reconciliation with the whites, but he only served five years and now the country seems to be edging more and more towards taking what the whites still largely control, namely the economic and agricultural sector. There are now loud voices (Malema and his ilk) calling for land redistribution without compensation - a practice that largely ruined their neighbor to the north, Zimbabwe.

The president of South Africa is a boneheaded fool named Jacob Zuma. He’s sexually immoral and has numerous wives, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. He is so brazenly corrupt that he even rivals the political leaders of Chicago. And he’s incredibly incompetent and recently fired someone who was widely regarded as a solid Finance Minister and replaced him with someone who is unsuitable for the job that heavily influences the nation’s stagnant economy. Massive demonstrations nationwide asking that Zuma step down have come from all races - not just whites. But Zuma dismisses the protests as ‘racist’. As one SA friend of mine put it, South Africa is soon going to have to be called ‘Zumbabwe’ if things continue as they are.

The list goes on and on, and I don’t mind that oppressed or even rich white South Africans come to the United States. In my estimation, they’ll be very likely to be Republican and conservative.

Refugees who won’t be called refugees like the whites of the rest of S. Africa because whites can never be discriminated against or threatened because of racial enmity-—according to the PC Gospels.
