Don't Blink
Here is the slow motion view of the Victor Marx, World's Fastest Gun Disarm. Note the barrel is deflected away from the face, prior to radial arm strike. Veteran Police Officer had firm grip on the gun & couldn't pull the trigger before the disarm was performed. Not sure if this is the world's fastest gun disarm, so you be the judge have a look the gun disarm video here.
That video may be cool but the webpage itself is so full of garbage that it’s unwatchable.
Also, anyone who pulls a gun on a dude that close deserves what he gets.
Can’t shut down the pop-up in the lower right corner, distracting.
Get closer than 12 feet and they’re toast. (CA highway patrol stats stated in their review of officer gun fights the average distance was 12 feet).
That’s not slow motion; it’s frame-by-frame.
Similar to what Jack Reacher said in the latest movie. “If you have to use that move, you are already dead.”
NEVER get that close.
I teach my students that disarm ... HOWEVER, the disarmer needs to turn to his right side as he does the disarm. In the video he has his whole front to the weapon. If he misses the shooter won’t
Notice the first thing he does is move his head to the left out of the line of fire. That is critical.
Much to do about a nothingburger.
I was taught that action beats reaction in 1970.
It does not take much talent or super reflexes.
You simply have to decide to act before the other person does.
Another trueism was not to get close when you held a person at gunpoint for that very reason.
This clickbait “demonstration” was all set up to make the disarm work.
Always stand at least 10 feet away from your prisoner.
nope no way- The equalizer has the fastest gun disarm Evah!

Problem is, you have to get closer than 12 feet to get the cuffs on. Which is why our shooting course included a strong-hand draw and muzzle contact shot with the left hand on the face of a silhouette target. That might not have been the best place for the use of the left hand, but it minimized shooting your own hand.
It was one of the very few instances in which we didn't use the weapon's sights and *shot from the hip.* [Speed rock]
The shooting study was armed conflict not trying to cuff a suspect.
