Black co-workers lament the debts their children have accumulated going to college; it is hard enough to find good jobs here in NJ to pay off that debt, and even harder when you are uneducated with no real job skills.

White parents are hurting too with the 'social justice' crap...

But black parents have it worse. These so-called 'Institutions of Higher Learning' shunt their children into 'African Studies' type degrees. Degrees that are totally worthless - unless their children grow up to teach in the same types of useless colleges.

White parents are getting screwed, but in my limited experience seem much more likely to send the kids out of state. The problem for NJ is that they don’t come back; there aren’t many good jobs anymore, but the cost of living is still set as though the good times are here.

It isn’t the colleges that put these unqualified students into dead-end “career” tracks - it is the students themselves. When I was in school decades ago, the freshman level classes were “diverse” but with each passing year they were less so. The token students themselves couldn’t handle the work.

When colleges offer degrees in basket weaving or 'hate studies' it IS their fault.

Colleges do it because tuition's the same for kids who have no business being in college as it is for kids who can benefit from higher education. What's next? Universities offering degrees in 'Hair Cutting' and 'Truck Driving'? Or is that too obvious for the money grubbers running Education Factories?

Many of those ridiculous classes/majors only exist because some jobs now require degrees that hadn’t in the past; many police departments now want a degree (ANY degree), and military officers are still expected to have one as well.

In my area (northeastern NJ) many colleges have dropped the façade of preparing Americans for a career; they recruit heavily in Asia, and get a lot of money from those students, their families, and/or their governments.
