Great idea!
One thing I've done over the years is to sit my kids, nephews and nieces down for a viewing of Blazing Saddles when they reach the age of 18.
My kids also joined me when all three parts of Atlas Shrugged hit the big screen. Quite a few conversations resulted from that, too.
I'll never win an award for Father of the Year, but my 3 children all scoff at the notion of safe spaces.

Bizarre misreading: @HillaryClinton thinks the lesson of Orwell's 1984 is that you should trust experts, leaders and the press. Unfortunately, this is exactly what is taught in American public schools and promoted through the media.
What's so scary is how much of the voting American population voted for anti-American Hillary Clinton.

I still need to get the DVD of part III.
AS would probably work better as an Amazon studios production series like High Castle.
I’m glad someone tried to do something with AS on screen anyway.

The real reason Hillary lost is that, in spite of her ability to speak the African American dialect while carrying a bottle of hot sauce in her purse, she could never learn to pimp walk without toppling over.

Typical - a clumsy sentence written by a clumsy politician. Smartest woman in the world? I wonder who she bribed or intimidated to become valedictorian at Wellesley.

Speaking of which, what happened to the pimp walk? It was a good indicator to cross the street in Manhattan in the 1980s.

Leftists not liberals Leftists
They all are leftist totalitarian fascists.
The more you say it, the more people are informed.
Make it your goal in life to disclose this to the world.

Liberals’ game plan is to grow government to become too large to fail.

Why Blazing Saddles? I wouldn’t show that vulgar thing to MY kids! At least if you show them The Producers, you’ll show them a funny movie, completely un-pc, and yet doesn’t engage in horrible language or potty humor. My first cousin, a famous Hollywood comedy writer, said Blazing Saddles destroyed movie comedies. He’s not wrong.

Books I required my homeschooled high schoolers to read
in order:
Animal Farm (the perfect 7/8th grade intro
1984
Brave New World
The Earth Abides
The Long Walk
Today I would add : The Mandibles.
Concurrently I used the entire Uncle Eric series through out highschool to give them a broad view of economics and government. Taught along with traditional sources for those subjects.

You have your choice, I have mine. Mel Brooks collaborated with Richard Pryor on the screenplay, that’s good enough for me. I’m a bit surprised at your remarks, considering you come from a region where the f-word is used interchangeably as an adjective, verb, and noun, sometimes in the same sentence. Lol

The redeeming scene in AS III is a conversation between Dagny and Hugh Alston. I was a bit disappointed in the rest, though I understood the constraints due to lack of funding.
A miniseries is in the works, though there haven't been many updates over the past two years.

Exactly. The government shows you 4 fingers and shocks you until you say you see 5.
