McConnell's mortal enemy might soon be in his caucus

Three words are striking fear in Senate Republicans these days: “Sen. Roy Moore.”

The bomb-throwing former Alabama Supreme Court justice has vaulted to a hefty lead in Alabama's Senate special election, lambasting Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell every step of the way.

“I do not,” said Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas), when asked whether he thought Moore would be a productive member of the Republican caucus. “Look at his track record.”

Added a Republican senator who requested anonymity: “It’s highly likely that he could be disruptive. We’re talking about somebody who has been removed from the bench twice."

In one fundraising email typical of the strikes he's been launching at McConnell and Strange throughout the campaign, Moore accused the majority leader of "dirty tricks and schemes ... like turning out Democrats to vote for his crony Luther Strange in our Republican primary."

"Judge Roy Moore in the U.S. Senate means the END of Mitch McConnell's reign as Majority Leader," Moore added.

A win by Moore could embolden conservative insurgents to challenge Flake and Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) and potentially Sens. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Bob Corker (R-Tenn.).

“I hope he makes it,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). “‘Cause if there’s no place for Luther Strange, then we’re all in trouble.”

Response to Cornyn;

Coming from one who is giving his take on the productivity of anything, your friggin opinion is worth less than the solids effluent from a waste water treatment plant.

We MUST do it before they give away our country.

Well he won’t be a uniparty rino kissass, so I can see why they don’t think he will be productive for them.

Cornyn, Cruz, Ryan, Mcconnell, Flake, and McCain all have one thing in common. They are about as useful to this Republic as teats on a bore hog. Please find a new line of work and preferably not as lobbyists.

There are a few senators who fall into this category, such as Mike Lee and Ted Cruz; senators who are outsiders, at least still for now. Luther Strange was not the worst person in the world by any means.

... and of course my Texas RINO Cornyn is unhapy with the people’s choice. It is unfortunate that Texans cannot seem to find someone with whom we can primary Cornyn. The last two primaries looked like we may have an opposition candidate but, before the primary, they somehow were found to have ‘issues’ that made them un-electable.

Does that not sound like how a certain ex-POTUS from Chicago worked his way into power?

Cornyn is the purest definition of an entitled ‘perfumed prince of the Potomac’. Any letters sent to his office criticizing him (if answered at all) sound like “Thank you for contacting this office. Your opinion is noted and will be given the consideration we feel it deserves.” IOW ... FOAD serf.

The RINOs will work for Moore’s defeat in the special election by providing no support or money and conducting a whispering campaign to the press about him being too extreme.
