This invasive nuisance got some lead medicine, courtesy of high tech a thermal-imaging scope.
Brad Korando shared this action-packed video on Facebook. This is a wild hog that paid the ultimate price for gluttony.
Sneaking into the woods at night, this hunter was well-armed for this hungry, invasive hog. A thermal-imaging scope caught the fat hog feeding on corn in the crosshairs. Then, one shot rings out, followed by another. A geyser of blood pours from this feral beast, and this guy caught it all on video.
Wild hogs are invasive nightmares that cause destruction to both wildlife and farmland. We take our hats off to the men and women that target these animals. See the full epic wild hog shot video here.
I thought ‘sensationalism’, then I watched. Geyser is the correct word here.
How he got in my thermal I’ll never know.
Wow - every pump of the heart was a new geyser! Wonder what the caliber was for that shot?
They are so bad here in Texas, they cause tens of millions of dollars worth of agricultural and ranching losses each year. Not to mention, the damage done to the lawns and backyard gardens of average people. Hate the porcine b*stards. Kill them all. Preferrably in the most painful way possible.
How does wild hog taste compared to domestic pigs?
How does wild hog taste compared to domestic pigs?
The wild boar Ive eaten (in restaurants) tasted a little more firm and lean. I would love to try some straight from the field, though!
Wild feral hogs staight outta the fields are much better than commercial raised, imo.
If texans weren’t so set on beef brisket as their bbq of choice, their wild hog problem could turn up on more tables.
Good grief, I thought it was going to deflate like a balloon from that volume!
Age, size and what they are feeding on matters a lot. Young and below 100#/120# are much better than full grown boars and sows. If they are feeding on acorns they tend to have a bitter flavor. The best I’ve had were young and trapped, then feed out on corn, scraps and domestic hog feed.
All wild pig are going to be much more lean the domestic pigs and will not fatten up like domestics either. When cooking them injecting, marinating, basting or if making sausage, adding fatty domestic pork cuts all help.
In Arkansas, wild hogs are usually shot and left to rot. They all seem to have psudo-rabies.
People here buy pigs at the stockyard and release them into the National Forest so they can hunt them later.
Non-Neutered males taste terrible.
I’ve heard that about the big boars, too.
we generally take big sows or shoats (100-150lb are best)
The sample I had was excellent. I will admit, tho, that the guy who cooked it could make a baseball glove edible.
Someone should have killed that one.
Oh, I thought it was fairly good comedy..............
I may be misinformed, or not fully informed; he shot a wild hog, for doing what hogs do? Then revelled at the bloodletting? Mr. Macho Man - really badass(not!!!) Then he posts it for everyone else to see. put you in the same class as the bow hunters who inflict agonizing pain on their prey, to get that “badass” feeling.
You are and the rest of your post just proves it.
