Obamacare has absolutely NOT been repealed. We still have:
*The employer mandate
*The Medicaid expansion
*The government subsidized obamacare plans on the exchanges
*The “shall-issue” mandate that people with pre-existing conditions have to be issued coverage
*The regulation than older sick people can’t be charged more than 3x what young healthy people are charged.
* All the other non-essential things that plans are required to cover whether you want them or not: substance abuse, mental health, preventative care, etc.
Try to learn our system of government.
Obamacare is a LAW.
It can not be repealed using Reconciliation (simple majority needed).
“Reconciliation is a legislative process of the United States Congress that allows expedited passage of certain budgetary legislation on spending, revenues, and the federal debt limit with a simple majority vote in both the House (218 votes) and Senate (51 votes).”
Regardless of what you hear in left wing media, Trump is NOT a dictator. He does not have 60 votes in Senate to repeal Obamacare law. Reconciliation can only apply to spending & fiscal part of Obamacare. McCain made sure Obamacare spending and fiscal aspects were not dismantled.
Headline is misleading. I think a lot of Obama Care was left murky on purpose to get this tax bill through with the weak Rinos. It's going to be re-visited, I'm sure. At least the individual mandate is going away and that is something that would never happen under a Hillary Clinton administration.
