President Trump is very down-to-earth and realistic. He has both feet on the ground. And he tells it like it is. Straightforward. This is what gets the dander up in a lot of people, who seem to prefer the weasel words, hypocrisies, obfuscations, and “lofty” pie-in-the-sky drivel of a lot of politicians.
I don’t know exactly what was said at the meeting or the immediate context of various remarks, but given what I have seen about him I am ready to accept his version of remarks and context and move on.

It’s hilarious watching so many people pretend they are more butt-hurt than Durbin is pretending he is over something that may never of been said, and matters less than the fact they didn’t fix DACA in the same meeting.

It’s just important to realize that these controversies don’t help Trump generally speaking. He usually dips about 5 points in the polls after one. Whenever he gains ground (and he had really gained it), he loses it with this stuff. The hardcore supporters will stick with him, but those who were more moderate or establishment Republican may not.
