On Saturdays MSNBC Live, Rep. Francis Rooney (R-FL) stated that some freedoms are going to have to be given up to ensure unstable people dont get weapons and that he will agree to act on gun control, but not necessarily for normal people. He also expressed uncertainty as to whether people should be allowed to own AR-15s and argued for making schools harder targets. Rooney said, Well, we are one of the most open societies in the world. I think that each one of these heinous crimes raises the bar and makes us compels that we, as a nation, rethink where we are on our open society versus what are we willing to do in restricting freedom to make sure that were safe and secure. Very unstable situation here, when someone like a person of this demonstrated mental illness, at the local level and even to the FBI, could get ahold of an assault weapon, weve got to think about that.

EVERY time one of these idiots starts spouting this $hiite, WE should be demanding that ALL weapons be banned from ALL public buildings INCLUDING, courthouse, jail, Senate/Congressional Offices, etc etc
At least then we will be ‘forcing’ them to say THEY are actually better than You & I, Kids in school etc.
NO SPECIAL EXEMPTION for guards with guns, let the guards guard the idiots the same we they expect YOU & I to guard/protect our family.
If they really want to get serious start with the DEATH PENALTY for ANY CRIME committed with a gun or fake gun.
Make it easier for the idiots that want ‘death by cop’.
WE have to start playing these idiotic games like ‘they’ do.
How about when people see something AND say something, then the entities given the authority to enforce the rule of law should DO something.
Of course, they are currently and they will in the future, do less to enforce the laws since they have been politicized by the obama administrative. This reason is exactly why we have the 2nd amendment and it is exactly why it must stay.
I will not give up my God given right to self-defense from horrible liberals.

Those who would give up liberty for security deserve neither.
Benjamin Franklin said this, if my memory serves me, correctly.
Thomas Jefferson also stated that “From time to time the tree of Liberty shall be refreshed with the blood of tyrants and patriots.”
Shot my Colt LE 6920 this morning. Man, that gun is fun to shoot. When I got home found out police had stopped a car at the end of my street and an occupant had made a run for it, right into my neighborhood which is a few houses in the middle of a very wooded area. Since my Colt was handy I used it to clear 4 outbuildings on my property. They used dogs to find the guy laying in the swamp. So there are two good reasons to own an AR style rifle.
Mr. Rooney has no right to decide which rights I have and which I do not.
I do not recognize his right to abrogate mine.
You are not alone, brother.
Plus it’s always nice to have another AR for back up. And a good old 1911 to back them up. :-)
Well said.

Whenever you give up freedoms, the blood spilled to get them back always costs more.
Who can stop that destruction except a vigorous, alarmed, and armed populace fighting for it as a last resort?
Our Founding Fathers knew it. That is why they put it in there and let it stand alone on it's own.
Hence, I will NEVER surrender my Freedoms. NEVER.
Well said.
We will stand as one.
Let them fire the first shot.
We will prevail.
Because Prohibition and the War on Drugs were so successful. For the cartels it’s just one more thing to smuggle across our porous borders. And the customers won’t be law abiding Americans. They’ll just be the hapless victims.

The FBIs 2015 Uniform Crime Report (UCR) shows nearly three times more people were stabbed or hacked to death than were killed with rifles and shotguns combined.
