ust a few years ago, hardly anyone expected that that the U.S. would be competing with the world’s top oil producers for the number 1 spot.

Yet, thanks to the shale resurgence, here we are—over the past few weeks, American crude oil production outstripped that of Saudi Arabia, OPEC’s de facto leader and biggest exporter.

Now the U.S. is on track to dethrone in the coming months the world’s current leader in oil production: Russia.

I have problems believing much of this site after all they used to promote “Peak Oil”. There are articles out there that say that the US is in the lead now. We do need to overcome the liberal stranglehold on the natural resources though not just oil.

Is that the problem? Here in Canada gas prices are near what they were when oil was $120. If that is so there must be a huge glut of oil just waiting to be refined.

Peak oil. The world was going to starve by 1980. Somehow human ingenuity when left free finds a way.

That's what the weekly reader told me. I wonder how many cynics weekly reader is responsible for?

Well, I AM a cynic but not of free markets and freedom in general. It is a wonder what capitalism does despite all the regulations and roadblocks put in its way. I just laugh at this image most people still hold today of small family farms feeding America.
