Is Cambridge Analytica Scandal Replacement for Russians-Stole-The-Election Investigation?

Is Cambridge Analytica going to be left holding the bag for Obama's Data-Mining?

Is the Cambridge Analytica alleged scandal—in reality a bombshell dropped out of the blue by the New York Times and The Guardian’s Observer—now dominating the daily news, a desperate replacement for Special Counsel Robert Mueller III’s fading ‘Russians-Stole-The-Election’ investigation?

It certainly fits the desperate, no-evidence special counsel need like a glove.

I see it more as an augmentation.

And the answer is yes...they have to figure out how to keep the spotlight shining on Trump and not on themselves, because this has advanced to the point that if they allow that...it will be game over for them.

This is all distraction and obfuscation. I believe they are desperately trying to drag things out until the mid-term election, but...it isn’t going to work.

They are going to run out of gas on it soon. Actually, it already has run out of gas. The investigation now is just “Dead Man Walking”.

It’s just another silly excuse for having fielded a poor candidate who was lazy and felt entitled to the office.

Lazy candidate?

Hardly

The RATS are frantically working to keep Hillary out of jail. The real problem with Hillary being prosecuted is that if she is arrested, then Hussein Obama will be next

They are both guilty of so many felonies that it is easy to get lost in their criminality. They have to find something to keep Hussein off the front pages.

Oh, they'll shut it down when during the discovery phase of legal action we find out that Facebook had been turning over personal data to the NSA and FBI with Obama's personal approval. Whoops!!

Am I the only one concerned about Channel 4 (a UK government-controlled media outlet?) secretly recording the CEO of Cambridge Analytica? Regardless of the guilt/innocence/ethics of this thing, I have a real issue with government entities using extraordinary or even illegal methods to go after their enemies, that is to say, citizens of a different viewpoint or political party.

I guess I just don't get it. Honestly, if one doesn't pay for a service (for instance Facebook) then one isn't the customer but the product.

I have a FB page which I seldom post anything on but I like to keep up with friends and family...mostly back to school photos, remodels, etc. I constantly warn my friends/family to not take the quizzes, complete surveys, etc that are often posted as that's how others get your contact info and figure out passwords, plus you start constantly getting ads in your news feed.

What I don't get is how this type of data mining is any different from me filling out a coupon for a drawing to win a free window installation. That info I fill out on the coupon sets up a profile that is valuable to window installers, contractors, window coverings, and such. I also don't understand how my FB information can influence an election??? Frankly I never saw a campaign ad on my FB page and it wouldn't matter to me anyway as there's not enough influence in this world, cyber or not, to ever get me to vote for Hillary!
