I remember when a Texas Instrument device cost more money than only a few lucky kids in school could afford. The rest of us were stuck with slide rules.
Last year I bought a nice calculator for five bucks. Somewhere I have a Mickey Mouse one that still works after 20 years...
Amazing times. I made the first microprocessor with on chip ROM and RAM, the worlds brightest LEDs, a photodiode so sensitive it forced NBS to recalibrate their standards, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
Know anyone looking for a good process engineer?...
Well, I don’t move in those circles...but I’ll definitely keep an ear out ;-)
That, and that what’s dug out of the ground is somehow intrinsically better than something lab made that is identical.
Sometimes the flaws ARE what make things special...(just speaking generally, and not as to what the average girl who wants a diamond engagement ring might think...)
fake newsw organizations are excited about covering the fake diamonds story
How bout the expert(who himself is likely a fraud) they have to hire to assure them they haven't bought a counterfeit? Some stupid painting sold for 150 million a couple weeks ago and any kid could have done better with a paint by number kit.
Some hack told English museums last month that up to 35% of their art was fake.
You said a mouthful.
Your Next Glass of Wine Might Be a Fake And Youll Love It.
Next step: sexbots?
You know, "wine, women & song" --> well, with artificial wine and artificial women, who needs real diamonds, right?
Our best haul was a synthetic sapphire bracelet for $19.99 on Groupon. When we go out and she's wearing it, she tells me gets that "bitch!" look from other women.
Must be a female thing, my radar can't pick up sub-millisecond microexpressions.
P.S. Also Tesla.
Some hack told English museums last month that up to 35% of their art was fake.
You don't say!
The immediate recognition of those “sub-millisecond microexpressions” is one of our female perceptual gifts.
What’s really embarrassing is when a woman can’t HIDE those reactions, and allows them to be so easily read ;-)
Shady Tree [to James Bond]: You dirty double-crossing limey fink! Those g**d*** diamonds are phonies!

I thought “Diamonds Are Forever” was an OK Bond film...
James Bond was about to be cremated then the bad guys stopped the process...They told him that his diamonds were fakes...
Blofeld needed diamonds for his laser weapon...
Jill St. John was OK not great...
#23 Ron White: The DeBeers people are almost saying what they really mean.
You remember the old DeBeers slogan, “Diamonds are forever.”
Then they changed it to “This year, take her breath away.”
The new slogan is “Diamonds. Render her speechless.”
Why don’t they just come out and say it: “Diamonds. That’ll shut her up..... For a minute”

I’ve come to appreciate “Diamonds Are Forever” more and more over the years.
It’s really well constructed, with colorful characters, great humor, and a good balance of humor and adventure.
“Square cut or pear shaped/these rocks never lose their shape/diamonds are a girls best friend’’.
